I have zero ideas what to get him

He's hard to buy for

Anyone got any clever or quirky ideas?

Also thought a cheese subscription how odd! We all must have really wanted one for Christmas!

Or a bottle of his favoured spirit-
What does he drink?

Problem with January birthday is that as an adult you buy what ever you need or it's to expensive to ask for as a gift. So when asked for ideas you get a few but they are quickly exhausted at Christmas. By May I'd probably have a few new things I need for summer.

I'm also a January the combined present hell of childhood. I'd be thrilled with a bottle of champagne and a lovely cake.

If he likes rugby how about a couple of tickets for six nations .

Some sort of subscription - cheese, coffee, chocolate, fancy pasta, magazine?

Personally I suspect he wouldn’t mind no presents (and in fact might prefer it) as he clearly has or could buy everything he wants.

You're probably right!

Magnetic bottle opener, crate of beer, box of fave crisps/chocs/nuts and a £10 greggs voucher 🥳

Like this! ❤️ that's a start, thanks

He likes whisky too but I got him a posh bottle at Cmas, plus have bought him stones, decanter, glasses in the past

He works in the field so he's at all the matches usually anyway

Coffe subscription?
He does like coffee

Have got him beans and grinder, travel mug, press etc in the past but never heard of a subscription

For a rugby fan - new national shirt ahead of the World Cup, or membership of national team fan club - for England it gives you access to ballots for six nations games, discount in the England rugby store, magazines and gifts I think.

PaintByLetters · 28/12/2022 18:33

Sorry just seen your later message that rugby is easy access for him!

My son's birthday is Boxing Day so I feel your pain. Just bought mine a pair of trousers that he wanted, a handmade chessboard, a bar set and a shot ski from Etsy. But he's a little younger than your son.

TeeBee · 28/12/2022 18:59

Take a look on Etsy at rugby gifts.

Shot ski?

Is there a Whiskey distillery near him? My husband loves Rum and we're going to a local 'Rum school' for his birthday.

TeeBee · 28/12/2022 19:02

A ski that has numerous holes drilled out of it and shot glasses put into the holes. Probably fun for a rugby crowd. Mines at uni so excellent for their drunken shenanigans.

ElbowsandArses · 28/12/2022 19:03

i didn’t really want anything for Xmas. My mum bought me a Pact coffee subscription and I LOVE IT (their coffee is amazing but £££ so would never buy it for myself.

CaptainBarbosa · 28/12/2022 19:13

What about like some rugby memorabilia? Something signed along with a crate of beer and a fancy bottle opener 😂

Tilllly · 28/12/2022 20:27

Looking at those last two, coffe sub and a couple of others

Thank you! 😊
You're stars!
