Loads of plants repel fleas.

Fill your garden with them.

Bestcatmum · 27/12/2022 16:06

Tell the council. I think they are obliged to sort this out.

PAFMO · 27/12/2022 16:08

You need something to repel whichever animal is hosting them. Fleas don't live for long without a host. Have you got pets?

PAFMO · 27/12/2022 16:09

Just seen about her cats. Don't let them in your house.
Have you tried Indorex?

TwoMonthsOff · 27/12/2022 16:09

If you don't have pets then fleas can't reproduce in your house. We had fleas this summer but have a house rabbit. It takes around 8 weeks to remove them all. They can hitch a ride on clothing from the garden but it is rare. Another tip is to keep your grass cut very short so fleas can't survive there. Is she in a council house? If so you could report to council but otherwise there's nothing you can do really unless you buy some flea stuff for cats and treat them yourself? Crossing a boundary maybe but I bet the poor cats would thank you!

I can't see how they would get into your home if you are keeping your doors shut. They would only be able to travel in on an animal !

Call environmental health at your local council

Cat fleas eggs can lie dormant in winter and hatch out when the weather warms up as we found out when we moved into a new, to us house. We don’t have pets and couldn’t understand how we were all suffering from flea bits. It turned out that the previous owner had cats, the cats moved out but left their fleas behind. Had to get the house fumigated.
