I am. My budget is £5 and I'm happy with who I got, just don't know what to buy her.
She's in her 40's (not sure exactly), classy lady, no kids. Want to keep away from the obvious bottle of wine. She has just bought a holiday house in Spain so was wondering if I should get something for there....
Ideas please!

I usually get my secret santee (?) one really nice Christmas decoration. Most people in that age range have everything they want / need.
I'm struggling too so might pinch any good ideas from your thread!

We are too and I have managed to the get the head honcho for the whole admin dept. - fanflippingtastic! I have managed to help my mate Tom find one for his Secret Santa but no such luck so far for mine . . .

For yours I would suggest a nice wine pitcher (if you shop around and don't mind going a little further?), salad bowl?

can I get that for a fiver tho?

I don't go to work but last year with our baby group (never mind the children will all be 3 in January - that's what we call it)we did secret Santa last year. This year, we've decided that the children don't need presents and we're going out for dinner (just Mummies on our own) instead - a much better idea I think

I've got one of the young party girls! At least I know her quite well as I was her mentor when she first started. She is easily embarrased and likes things (don't ask how I know?!) so thought a sexy little order might be appropriate what do you think?

I was getting to get my santee those gel things you put in your shoes to relieve the pressure for xmas parties.

Last year I bought one of those Balloon Animal kits for a fiver which went down very well. Someone else sponsored a couple of chickens for a village in Africa which I thought was a great idea.

I'm doing one at work too and I am not even that sure who the person is at school I have to buy for! Just think she is in the Science department.

I have up to £10 to spend I think. Not got a clue what to buy!

am doing a secret santa for a 'do' tomorrow night - limit is £5. I bought a couple of magazines and some hotchoc to have with them.
Last year I bought 4 bars of Green&Blacks organic chocbars. mmmmmmmm I suppose it depends on the recipient (duh, of course!) I'm exchanging with a bunch of other mums

athomemum · 02/12/2004 21:00

lady in her 40s like me - posh chocs or lush smellies!

vict17 · 02/12/2004 21:02

we're doing it too - I don't know who I've got yet but I'll probably buy something from the body shop/chocolate/wine/candles for a woman colleague and chocolate/wine for a male colleague. Unless it's someone I know really well in which case I might be a bit more imaginative

7samsaswimming · 02/12/2004 21:12

We're doing one in work with a limit of £5. Feeling very chuffed with myself as I got her 5 pairs of pants/thongs in Next which were reduced to 99p each. Total value of pressie is £45. I know her well and this will be much appreciated.

janeyjinglebops · 02/12/2004 21:36

Well I have been shopping and have bought her some Frizz Ease hair straightener stuff (she has very curly hair which she hates - so should be appreciated not take as an insult!) Plus some see through red panties with ruffles on the bum!

Turkiegirl · 02/12/2004 21:36

well I've bought her a mediterranean influenced soap on a rather nice dish thing. Thought it would remind her of Spain when she's stuck in Yorkshire and its raining! Not that exciting, but I couldn't choose!
