Just browsing through March issue of Prima and saw a little ad asking for people to join? Can't get it out of my head and feel that this is something I would really like to do for so many reasons.

Anyone else doing it, wasn't sure where to post this, so it maybe that there is already a thread on the go?

If you fancy it then do it , however like all these kind of fund raising actvities you will need to raise alot of money just to get you out there !

have a good look at the small print before deciding anything .

Also I thought thet Peru were starting to restrict the amount of tourists to Machu Picchu , may be wrong , perhaps someone could enlighten us .

Thanks CaptainUnderpants. Yes my boyfriend said that he thinks you have to raise something like £3,000 in sponsorship to take part. I have rung the telephone number printed in the magazine but only answerphone and not call back yet. May well email them too.

How moral is it to ask people to raise £3,000, when most of that is going to be spent giving you a nice holiday?

How would your friends react if you simply said "I'm trying to raise money for a couple of weeks in South America, and I'll give any surplus to charity." It's the same thing, just presented differently...

Ubergeekian, I'm not sure what percentage goes on the "holiday" and what goes to Breast cancer. It's not supposed to be a holiday, its a fund raising trek, but I take your point.
