At what age would you take kids to a Panto?

Just wondered. DS is 3, and not fazed by anything, so I'm starting to wonder if he'd enjoy it this year. Anyone taken them at that age, or would you leave it a bit longer?

hiya dd is 3 on xmas day so we're going to take her to the panto for a seperate birthday party/treat. She's pretty good with stuff like that and is always desperate to get on a stage if she sees one - not sure how she will react to it though!!! I think 3 is ok though - but if she gets scared we'll just take her out

I would say a 3yo would be old enough. We were going to take DD, aged 2.5yo, to one this year but cheapest tickets for city's panto are £16.50 each and we are busy most weekends now anyway.

DD went to lots of shows in Disney, of varying lengths, aged 2y 3m, ad loved it all. First show she went too was aged about 16 or 17 months and it was a Wheels on the Bus one, and she adored it.

My kids have been going since babyhood (because DH is an actor) TBH my 3 yr old still usually ends up on my lap and is a bit scared of the dame sometimes. Last years dame was scarey.

It is a money thing usually and tickets for Pantos are usually really expensive, children are also full price.

Took dd for the first time last year when she was just over 3 yo and she was fine. We're taking ds this year and he was 2 yo in October. DH may have to take him out though
