I am rubbish at parking - has anyone ever been like me but somehow managed to become competent at parking?

Please tell me how! I'm fed up of having to drive all around my area to find three residents' spaces next to one another (and paying for a car park when I can't even though there are lots of single spaces available). I'm fed up of driving to the top of multi-storey car parks so I can find three spaces next to one another.
Don't suggest parktronic, I have it. It doesn't help.

3 spaces next to one another? What are you driving - a double decker? Lol.
I would advise reverse parking into spaces in the supermarket car parks or when out and about. Force yourself to practice, go out on a quiet day/evening to a large car park (ie a local retail park)and just keep practising.
I am not the best parker in the world, what helped me was having a bigger car, I have swapped to a tiny car now and find that alot harder to park as I am giving myself too much space!

I am appalling at parking haven't parallel parked since my test I have one of those can park anywhere DP's too. Now we are having number 3 we have just bought a people carrier so I'm even worse. I park in drive through parking spaces at the supermarket so I don't have to reverse out.
