How many visitors in a day is normal?

Very random question! I get on well with my neighbours but they are very nosey and always notice and question me if a car they don’t recognise pulls up to my house - they will ask who it was, where I was going etc. Sometimes even if it’s a car they’ve seen before. Today I’ve been off work and because I’ve squeezed so many plans/engagements into one day, 4 different cars have pulled up at mine throughout the day, 2 of which I don’t think they will have seen before. I am expecting to be interrogated about this tomorrow!

I remember a recent post on AIBU I think where OP was questioning their neighbour who would leave at odd sporadic times including through the night and had random cars pulling up all the time. The same could be said for my house tbh, which got me thinking: would a normal neighbour think that was weird? Or is it common for people to have so many visitors in a day?

Tell them you've opened a brothel and as neighbours they'll get a discount

I would hate so many visitors personally but it's not uncommon. People have friends visiting; playdates for small kids or older children inviting friends over; nannies/ cleaners/ gardeners visiting; deliveries; family visits; people work shifts so leave/ return at odd times of day, or have older children who do; lift sharing for work or hobbies or kids' hobbies/ childcare arrangements; builders quoting for work on houses; tradespeople doing repairs, etc. Any number of reasons for many "comings and goings".

I have no idea how many visitors my neighbours have and IMO anybody who does has much too much time on their hands and is also very intrusive and weird. And as such, I'd not be devoting head space to what their opinions on it are. It's your house, it's none of their business who you invite to be there, unless you are causing a great deal of noise and there is antisocial behaviour.
