Decorating and new furniture. Any creative ideas out there?

My daughter (almost 13) needs her room decorated. She is very feminine and girly and we live in a modern house.

She wanted white furniture...a bed that can double as a sofa, bedside cabinets, and a desk. We also would like ideas for colour schemes.

So....
Where can I buy decent quality matching furniture, including the desk, but not IKEA or MFI, maybe not as expensive as John Lewis?

Does anyone have good ideas for colour schemes/curtains/bedding?

Where can you buy matching wallpaper/curtains/bedding?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Littlewoods for the furniture?

Great little trading co do matching bedding/curtains etc. but might be a bit young for DD.

TBH I'd go wih co-ordinating rather than matching, picking a colour theme and running with that rather than buying matching bedding, curtains and wallpaper, and the same for furniture, but feel free to ignore me (I'm speaking as someone without any matching chairs round the dining table )

Have only glanced at Next. They seemed to have mainly living room furniture. I will have a look though.

Any more?

this isn't s sofa but is lovely!

Also

Laura Ashley
M&S do furniture

Like Overmydeadbody, I'm not into 'matching' but if furniture is white, maybe you could mix and match where you get it from.

We got some lovely bits from Laura Ashley for my dd's (12) room, polka dot pink wallpaper and a chandelier thing.

White furniture I would mix and match or buy and paint if necessary - a bit too "styled" to go with all matching ??

I know you said not Ikea but they have 2 nice white day beds that I would consider !

for the age of your dd i would be tempted to use a nice pale green with some pink accents maybe - i did see a really easy to do mural style flower painted on a wall with stick on sequins for the centre of the flowers - hard to explain but i plan to do it at some point for my dd!! im very into the gingham checks and polka dots and think that suits any age!!
Ive got a great book called Childrens Spaces by Judith Wilson you could probably get from the library for more ideas! HTH

Thank you.

We ran up to our local Next but back on MN now!

I really like both those beds that PPC and MM linked.

We would probably consider the Ikea ones but I worry about the 'sturdiness' of Ikea. I have nearly always bought flat pack which fell to bits within a few years. Now that I am a bit more financially solvent, I vowed I would not buy flat pack again. However I could be convinced to try again.

Just to couch for some of the Ikea stuff - Mum and Dad currently have an Ikea bed they bought in 1978 in Ikea in Germany - has been assembled and disassembled alot as Dad was in the military and they moved alot. Still going strong!
