Could I enjoy a day out in Stoke?!!

I want to meet my friends half way between Manchester and Birmingham and Stoke appears to be half way on the train map.
What could we do for a few hours in walking distance from the train station?
Are there any lovely restaurants?

lol - me too. I'd forgotten about the North Stafford Hotel IOS. You could probably get a decent meal there but as far as spending a few hours.......

Stoke-there is a reason the 'bypass' goes straight through the middle of it'.
