DS horrendously sick last night. DP didn't think to scrape off said sick before putting sheets into washing machine. And the washing machine has washed the sick....which is nice

thats grim.

mind you dh once washed ds's nappy. Which would have been fine if we weren't using disposables and he hadn't put my favourite jumper in too.

nasa · 26/11/2004 16:45

it is indeed - grim. what I am supposed to do with it. strangely it seems to have washed all the colour out so it is translucent sick..probably TMI

Oh, yuck, nasa, when I saw the thread title I thought "surely not?"

You poor thing. I guess your DP meant to be helpful...mine has always been the same but luckily is allergic to the washing machine so the worst I've had is bucketfuls of sicky sheets in water, which then have to be sluiced...

I notice you haven't asked for suggestions!

Avalon · 26/11/2004 16:46

Ask dp to get it out of the washing machine?

codswallop · 26/11/2004 16:46

not tumbled it too?
yeruck

JanH · 26/11/2004 16:47

You could put the sheets in the bath and slosh them about a bit and hope to catch the big bits (sorry) in the plughole.
Not sure what to do with the machine - I wonder if you ran it empty, on a hot wash, if it would all drain out and rinse away?

nasa · 26/11/2004 16:48

as a kind of scientific experient "what happens to sick when you wash it" it is, i suppose, interesting but there's bits of it everywhere. Wonder what would happen if I did tumble dry it?.... it's just sitting in the machine at the mo

No other choice but to pick out the lumps imo. Did you mean it JanH about your dh being allergic to the wm or am I just being thick.

nasa · 26/11/2004 16:49

hmm..good advice Jan - just cant' face it. At least it's washed the smell out!

get yer rubber gloves on!

nasa · 26/11/2004 16:50

it's marginally less grim than actually being puked on in the middle of the night. Was like the exorcist

Take the sheets outside and sluice them under the outside tap? (With rubber gloves on!)

JanH · 26/11/2004 16:55

Sorry, dogwalker, not allergic - that was a manner of speaking! He just doesn't get them (though he claims he would manage if he had to...)
