What xxxxxxx swear words can we use?

Ok, following on from posts of WWW's and mine - what, if any, swear words do you lot consider acceptable for use on here? It's just that my x key is wearing out - and yes, I know it's not big or funny or clever.

Perhaps we should use pseudo swear words...?
When I was a little girl, my Mum used to say 'oh hair oil' instead of 'oh hell'.

Willow2, a nice girl like you doesn't swear, surely! I post occasionally on a football messageboard, and funnily enough there's a lot of naughty words used on there ... the swear words are automatically transposed into asterisks, but people always find ways around that, like changing an 's' into a '5', for example.

But you're right, it's not big and it's not clever!

Bugger.

Acceptable anywhere, surely? (And don't call me Shirley.)

Clarinet60 · 28/10/2002 22:27

I'm un-offendable, but willing to be guided. I need an occasional bugger and the odd arse. But will stop if it's annoying.

mumsywumsy · 28/10/2002 22:37

how abt spelling 'em backwards ????

jasper · 28/10/2002 23:21

ydoolb good idea.

Tortington · 28/10/2002 23:37

oh no i thought it was big and clever... shit! o should that be tish or 5hit or sh*t? as my spelling is crap i dont think it matters anything over 5 letters and i'm done for. were all grown up - use what makes you feel comfy.

WideWebWitch · 29/10/2002 21:22

The trouble is that I write here as I speak and so not being able to use the f word is sometimes limiting for me But I know people won't like it so I don't: blimey, I have to find proper words! I don't think crap is very rude though, ditto bugger and bloody so I reckon we should be allowed to use them. (I don't currently, use xxxx key) We should start using ffs, though, it fills a need I think. And swearing is sometimes funny, although maybe not big or clever. The C word I think I'll reserve for appropriate occassions in real life...

Fionn · 29/10/2002 21:23

Even my mum says "crap" and she's not particularly liberal so it must be OK!

MandyD · 29/10/2002 21:29

I don't think there's much wrong with using an asterisk * instead of the vowels and superfluous consonants in the common swear words. Or am I totally out of step here?

I think I've interpreted ffs correctly, in our house it's known as an Arthur (ie. Ah, for f**k's sake) HTH

Willow2 · 29/10/2002 21:40

MandyD - you might just have saved my bacon. Will now be arthuring left right and centre in the hope that my ds stops ffs!

I love the idea of Arthur - since if I inadvertantly use it verbally infront of my daughter most people will think she's still quite cute.
