Not Happy with Ebay Seller - How to Tackle it??

What's the best steps to take - my Mum asked me to bid on a pair of trainers for her which I won. They were clearly stated as being "used, worn ONCE but in immaculate condition, SIZE 5".

Got the parcel today and one of the trainers size 5 but the other is SIZE 4 - plainly obvious just looking at them even without check the label inside. If they had been worn once the seller must have known one trainer was smaller than the other, am I dealing with a bare-faced liar?

The seller has left me positive feedback - I want to email him to get this sorted but do I ask for a full refund? Will he expect me to send the trainers back once I get the refund (so should I ask for my postage costs to be refunded too?)

Also annoyed that he quoted £4 postage and packing for the Standard Parcel Service, but he has clearly just used 2nd class and just paid £2 postage. Shall I mention this as well?

This seller does have over 300 positive feedbacks though.

Email him, & if he doesn't sort it with no extra cost/inconvenience to you, leave negative feedback!

My DH is an ebay addict so I have asked him your question. He advises NOT to leave negative feedback and to email him to try to sort it out. Obviously if he doesn't respond or sort it out, then threaten to write negative feedback about him.

How did you pay? If you paid by PayPal then they will give you your money back.

If you don't get satisfaction, make a complaint to Square Trade which is ebay's arbitration.

HTH and good luck.

Email him first, with a warning that you will leave negative feedback. You should be entitled to a full refund, including the cost of returning the trainers to him, if he wants to bother that is.

Charging much more for p&p than it actually costs seems to be quite standard on ebay but yes, mention that too.

Your not allowed to threaten neg feedback...against ebay rules, say your not happy in an email, both your feet are the same size and youdd like a refund please..

Hi all, thanks for replies. I paid by cheque. I've emailed him and said at the end about hoping to sort this out without having to leave neg feedback, so hope to hear back from him tomorrow. Wouldn't have minded so much about the 100% markup on postage if he had used a new box, but the previous occupant of the box was a Morphy Richards steam iron!
