Geting ready for new years eve party and am very nervous

we always go to our neighbours for new year as we can wander home and as we all have children they can dance till they drop and then be scooped up to the nearest bedroom.

I will know some of the people going but there are a few I don't and I am a tad nervous which is unlike me as I am the social butterfly of our family.

I was just in the bath getting all paranoid about the hosts explaing who we were to the family they have staying with them and saying well up the road there is our local nutter who has been locked up for Christmas after running around the village in her pyjamas clutching the contents of her bathroom cabinet. I am sure they won't and it is just paranoia but it is still worrying me a bit.

I am nervous that people may feel awqward with me if they know what has happened or that I will just feel nervous and out of place.

Dp says we don't have to go but dd has been looking forward to it for weeks, and I feel as if I have spolied enough of her Christmas.

What do I say when people say " Have you had a nice Christmas?"

God I hope you didn't think I meant your behaviour was embarassing ? I just meant that my neighbours was in that I know she would have been embarrased if she'd known what she was doing.

I'll shut up now
