I was just wondering which advent calenders your all getting your little ones? I can't choose between a white buttons one or a kinder one (which looks really nice. Jamie didn't have one last year as he was only 6 weeks old so we are really looking foward to this year.

Found what I wanted in a Christian Book shop. A nativity scene with stickers - one you put on each day to build up the picture. No chocolate but that's not a problem. I will buy a box and let my sons choose one each every day.

I decided this year that if we are to have an advent calendar it has to mean something, otherwise what on earth is the point? Either something about the nativity, or something very christmassy (father christmas, tree, presents) or something charity orientated ( that fair trade one sounds good). Doesn't have to be religious necessarily.

I really dislike the advent calendars that are based around toys like action man, barbie, etc. Just another souless way to commercialise Christmas with no meaning behind it. In the past we have had these sort of toy-based calendars but IMO my boys have got little joy from them. Even the so called chocolate is yukky.
