Help! Baby fancy dress

My dd's nursery is having a fancy dress party for Halloween on the 29th. I've been told that the costume doesn't have to be halloween related, but I'm still stuck! She's only 9 months old, and I can't find any ready made costumes to fit, and unless really simple haven't the time to make one myself (although I do have a sewing machine. Any ideas? Either where I can buy something ready made, or something I could cobble together relatively quickly?

Orange romper suit with a felt green leaf attached to a little head band or pony tail band if enough her - she can be a pumpkin! VERY ann geddes - lovelee!

try mothercare, as last year we bought a suit for dd (then 5 months) whcih was a green and orange dragon, zip up front, hood and tail, with little spikes going all the way down.... very cute... and very funny!

sorry if language is a little clumsy... haven't got my thinking head on tonight!

Try looking on American ebay - halloween dressing up (not necessarily spooky things related) is much more established there and you can get costumes even for newborns. I bought DS a pumpkin outfit for his nursery's halloween dressing up day which only cost me $1.99 (plus another $6 for airmail - but it's still less than buying one here, even if I could have found one in his size).

The best search for child size costumes, available to the UK, and payable by credit card is this .

You could also try (site wont let me have more than one link) this ....

We are having a fancy dress at home. My DD at 18 months is going to be a devil, we have a pair of red tights and a red poloneck body suit already, Asda has some lttle devil forks and horns at about £1 each, then I'll get a bit of red fabric (or a sock) to make a tail!

Disney shop are good for costumes from newborn but the secret is to get it just after halloween when they are cheap (sorry, not much good for you right now...). Baby Gap has some but so expensive I wouldn't personally bother.

Our local Lloyds pharmacy does fairy wings for babies.

I'd go coloured sleepsuit with appropriate accessories (pink with stripes and ears on headband - piglet; brown with cotton wool on bottom - rabbit etc).

Enjoy!

Fairy wings sound fab - maybe you could add a little tutu - just need a bit of that nasty netty stuff and some elastic - don't even have to sew it really - and it can go over a pink or white body/sleepsuit.

Isn't it silly though ? As if a 9 month old is going to get anything out of being all gussied up ! It's way too Anne Geddes for me I'm afraid !

The Woolworths ones start from age 4 - so they might be a tiny bit big for Tissy's 9 month old!
