I brought my DS and DD home from school, left my pushchair in the communal area behind a closed door as usual went to get it this morning and its gone-checked the car to see if I was losing my marbles but it is gone!!!

I am cross and upset all at the same time! Police say theres nothing they can do!

Just thought I'd rant!

toys r us have this on offer if you can get there.

I will ring the council though just to get through Christmas see what they say. Do mothercare still sell those £10- £20 ones?

year and years ago, when you were not allowed to take pushchairs in shops, i left my brand new pushchair outside a shop when I came back mine was gone and in it's place was a grotty old clapped out one,,,,, 30 odd years later I still remember how sick I felt

RudolphtheredROSEreindeer · 20/12/2007 13:32

council toy libraries will prob close tomorrow, so give em a call asap, no were near you otherwise you could have sued one of mine over xmas

lilmissmummy · 20/12/2007 13:32

Thank you Twinkly thats really kind of you! I think I may chain it to myslef while I sleep to make sure that no one takes it!

was just looking on mothercare and the cheapest I found was about £35. Will have a look if I can find anything cheaper.

ninewurlysdancing · 20/12/2007 13:34

argos has one for £15 but it doesnt lay back.

RudolphtheredROSEreindeer · 20/12/2007 13:35

yes, sure they still do cheaper ones, might not be on website, but they will or even toys r us?

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 13:36

I have this just for keeping in the house in case I need to walk somewhere and have left the other pushchair in the boot of the car which dp has taken to work (it happens often )

Anyway, it's cheap and cheerful and quite sturdy and will definitely see you over Christmas.

Tis bloody awful that you have to chain a child's pushchair so no bastard nicks it.

lilmissmummy · 20/12/2007 13:40

layercake- I know it makes you feel really sick doesnt it!!!

The police were talking about finding it etc. but to tell the truth- I am not entirely sure I want them to find it- I dont know somehow it would feel umm tarnished??! Does that make any sense?

Yeah I might just get something like that one in Argos it looks okay and it will get us through Christmas at least!

I called the toy library but they dont have anything unfortunately!

I know what what you mean about not wanting it back.... sounds totally crazy but it would not feel the same would it.....the are some real sad bastards out there......

Theghostofchristmaspyjamas · 20/12/2007 13:54

No it wasn't worth it tbh. what upset me most is that they took a binlorry that was full of little cars my ds had collected since he was about 2 . Not worth anything to anyone else but really important to DS

lilmissmummy · 20/12/2007 14:07

Thats the same as the pushchair- before I met dh I was in an abusive relationship and the pushchair was the first thing that I bought for myself of any value, I saved up for about 18months to buy it and I was so proud of myself for achieving that.

dh is happy to replace it and money is now not an issue like it used to be but I didnt realise how much it meant to me. Pathetic aye?! I dont want it back now even if they find it- I'll just ebay it.
