... how much TV your children watch per day on average(am having a paranoid Mummy moment in which I need to know that I am/my children are normal)

I will make it easy for everybody
Do your children watch
a)less than an hour a day
b)between one and two hours a day
c)more than two hours a day

And if you want to add the age of your child(ren), great.
Dd1 who's 3.5 watches between one and two hours a day - it used to be more, but we've cut down a lot. It could be even less if she didn't watch so much at her grandparents, but that's another thread .

DD is 7 we rarely have the TV on, she might watch a video or a DVD one night a week but that's it. Mainly because she goes to her father's on the weekends and that is all she does - watch TV I mean - so I try to fill the rest of her time up with doing things - or putting on TV later on in the evening with programmes she hates (news, footy, Eastenders)so she goes off to play. how terrible am i??
She also gets away with lots of TV at MIL's but usually she and DSD go off to play and don't bother with it.

Probably c) Mine tend to watch it in the morning from 7 until breakfast at 7:30 but at the moment they are obsessed with Raven so I let them eat their breakfast in front of the TV .
After school, they might watch for an hour and a half or they might not watch at all, depends on the day and what they feel like doing. I certainly don't mind them watching TV then as I think they are often tired after school. Suitable programmes usually end at 4:30, but sometimes go on longer as ds's get older.
Mine are aged 8, 6 and 4. (not counting baby).

Dd aged 2 yrs 3 months is probably B
She used to be C but we have been making a consious effort to not have the tv on all day (even if it's just the news/music) Trying to get DP not to turn the telly on first thing in the morning or whenever he comes down is a nightmare!
