Hi had anyone on here got a daith piercing, I got mine pierced about 4 months ago and it doesn't seem to be healing no matter what I've tried i was told they do take longer to heal but it's still painful and scabs but doesn't seem to get better, and sometimes will bleed just want it to heal but it's getting to the point I might have to take it out :(

I have my daith pierced and bear with it, it does take a while to heal. I tend to not use salt water it irritates my skin for some reason. I used prontolind spray I think it's called and that worked really well. I suffer bumps on all my piercings and they take a while to heal but I just kept it clean and used my spray and it did ease. It took 7 months for mine to fully heal. I had quite a rough time with mine to begin with. That being said if it looks infected or too swollen go to your piercer and ask them to take a look for you. It could also be your bar might be too small/big so it might be worth getting it checked but cartridge piercings can take a while to heal.

I've got one. They do take up to 6 months or so to heal apparently. Keep it clean with saline, leave it well alone apart from that, don't even wobble it. If it's any consolation once it's healed you're good to go. Mine is no bother now, least faff of all my considerably older ear piercings (except that surprisingly few places make nice daith earrings compared to other styles)

I had mine for about 9 months. Never really healed. Had bumps for ages. Tried lots of stuff. Chamomile compress. Sudocrem. Not touching it.
Nothing helped and I eventually got rid of it. My ear went straight back to normal

Mine took a year to heal. It healed better when I took the hoop out and changed it to a bar. Apparently they can take up to 18 months!

I haven't got a daith but I have other cartilage piercings and they take between 6m-1yr to heal fully. Things to check:

  1. Did they pierce you with jewellery that won't cause a reaction? IE titanium

  2. Are you keeping it clean twice a day?

  3. Are you doing your best not to sleep on it?

Took a year for mine to heal. Totally normal. Blast it with the shower head a few times a week and otherwise don’t touch it.

Savlon! Mine take ages to heal wherever they are but savlon always gets them healed quickly. If you can remove it, dip the stud into the cream and put back in.

I have a few cartilage piercings and the daith took the longest to heal.
I used sea salt and boiling water to clean it but very dilute. I reckon it took a year. I can pull it about now, no problem at all so worth persevering

DrWankincense · 06/11/2021 22:35

I'm watching. Mine is up and down so trying to bear with it

bonzo77 · 06/11/2021 22:38

Mine took a long long time to heal. Definitely over a year. I’ve had it 4.5 years now and it doesn’t give me any trouble at all.

I know not everyone is the same but I have had several piercings and the only thing that works for me is to leave it the hell alone. Whenever I've tried to use anything from sprays to salt baths, I just irritate it more. I've got a daith, conch, tragus, helix, anti helix, etc and it's worked for everyone of mine

Please don't do this!

This is an old thread , but I'm nearly a year in with mine .
I haven't changed it (and probably won;t , I have a titanium hoop)
No scabby manky bits for a good while now thankfully but stings if I sleep on it or knock it .

I love mine and it stil gives me a Yay when I catch sight of it !
