Hi everyone

I've decided to make my parents and grandmother hampers for christmas. I've found a site for hampers/tissue paper/cellophane etc here but I don't know if its cost effective?

Also, ideas for what to put in the hampers would be fab please!

My idea list right now is
wine
cheese
biscuits
xmas pudding
photo frame
pampering goodies for my gran

and thats it. I'm stuck!

Lovely idea. I'm planning to do something similar for DS's nursery staff - a hamper filled with nice hot choc, coffee, tea etc.

Not sure about how cost effective that site is (though I have fallen in love with the spotty enamel bucket) - I'd be tempted to have a look in the local pound shop or equivalent to price similar things up before I bought online, as you're presumably not buying enough to qualify for any of the bulk discounts.

Try TKMAXX

Am in Jersey, Channel Islands so no TKMaxx and our local poundshop does very little for a pound and an awful lot for more then a pound LOL

If you've got a farm shop nearby, you can get nice homemade style mustards and jams, they always give it a professional look.

I used to do this for dh's nan every year. I knew she liked Ginger jam and I only bought some as a last minute thing in Co-op I think. It was her favourite thing, but she could never afford it, bless her, so she was thrilled to get co-op jam every year!

I'm liking the square Willow Basket with Natural Cotton Lining they do at £2.95 each which measures Top 23cm x 23cm. Base 17cm x 17cm but I'm not sure how big/small that is for the money and how much I can sensibly get in it?

How about getting the Lo's to make some choc truffles to add to it too or shortbread maybe.

Ah, I see. How about pricing up ebay too - or maybe asking for recommendations on sites on the Arts and Crafts thread.

ACtually, I think there may have been a couple of threads in the last few weeks. Will go off and search...
