I would have thought that you would be entitled to legal aid if you bring the case in your dd's name. Don't know what the topic is that you want to move on - but you might like to look up Leigh and Day - a legal firm based in London. They specialise in human rights/medical negligence etc etc and would advise you for free as to whether you have a case or not and how it could be brought about.

We've got two similar threads here robinw! did your council grant planning permission to you neighbours then? No stipulation about the building, in order to reduce its outlook over your property? We had a smalll extension built five years ago, and the council were very stringent about the types of windows we were allowed - only velux looking up to the sky to avoid overlooking the edge of the neighbours garden - and rightly so. Fight, fight, fight!
