As before please take 5 minutes and no googling. You can confer with friends and colleagues.

1)In the Shakespeare play, who killed MacBeth?
2)Who wrote 'An Inspector Calls'?
3)Which author was the 2007 winner of the Booker Prize.
4)Which name never previously existed before it was invented by J M Barrie for the book Peter Pan?
5)What is the nationality of Agatha Christie?s Poirot?
6)Who composed the opera "The Barber Of Seville"?
7)Soprano is the highest female voice, what is the lowest?
8)In which year did Elvis die? .
9)Which TV Chef plays drums in the pop group Scarlet Division?
10)Which English composer wrote the evocative musical piece ?Lark Ascending??

I'm not sure about Q3, I liked it because it is topical but it may be too hard. Might substitute the Cranford question for it.

For later posters I included the answers in my post of 11.45 if you want to see how you did...

OP posts:
PortAndLemonaid · 03/12/2007 21:06

Q4 isn't actually true, entirely, though -- I remember a string of correspondence in Family Tree Magazine years ago where verious instances of "Wendy" had been found in the census records dating from before Peter Pan. But it's popularly believed to be true, and Barrie probably thought he was inventing it.

handlemecarefully · 03/12/2007 21:07

I know PortAndLemonaid. I'm going to reword the question inserting 'allegedly'

OP posts:
TwoRustyDoves · 03/12/2007 21:13

Actually I don't think Barrie did invent the name Wendy, he only popularised it. I think it has been found in a census that predates Peter Pan, but I'm not allowed to Google, so I can't provide a reference.

btw Elvis died 13 days after my 21st birthday - some of you are so young....

TwoRustyDoves · 03/12/2007 21:13

great minds P&L!
