I make christmas cards every year normally with a picture of dd on the front usually in a christmas outfit.

Any ideas of cards that I can make with her that we can send out.

I went to ELC and bought all the stuff I need to make my first ever home-made Xmas cards with Lottie. Cost me about £8 in total.

Hulababy · 09/11/2004 15:09

I get the stuff from ELC too. I get their pre cut and folded blank cards, with envelopes and go from their. Lots of glitter - just to bug everyone with the mess it makes as they open it and just let her do here own thing

mummytummy · 09/11/2004 15:23

That sounds a good idea - how many cards does the ELC pack make?

Hulababy · 09/11/2004 15:41

Just got catalogue to check. I can't remember how mcuh the blank ones are - about £3 for 10 I think???

They also have a pack of cards with envelopes, with pictures for children to colour in - 2 of 5 designs (so 10 cards) for £3 They also do Thank you cards too.

And they have a pack of Make your own felt Christmas cards (makes 5)- £5. and a set of Make your own 3D cards (makes 5) = £5 also.

ELC also have decorations to make, and crackers, etc.

look here for more info

Sounds a good idea, forgot about early learning. Might be cheaper for me to do a DIY version and maybe just buy blank cards to decorate as we will have to make about 50!!!

Might use the sponge painting idea, having made cards before I hate folding and cutting them myslef so might buy packs of pre made blank ones from baker ross as they are very reasonable.

Baker Ross sell card blanks (including envelopes) for under £4 for 36 .. and you can buy loads of stuff to stick on too if you like

nikkim · 09/11/2004 15:59

Thanks twiglett have just been on their website and it is fab!!! I was going to do a Christmas party for dd and a few of her friends from nursery. I might buy some stuff and do a Christmas craft party.

WARNING .. they're taking about 3 weeks to deliver at the moment

Tchibo have a nice set of 20 self-inking Christmas stamps at the moment, for £3.99, which you could use on cards or envelopes. If you've got access to a cutter/guillotine type thing the cheapest way might be to find a reasonably priced pack of envelopes, and get a pack of card which you can cut to size yourself.

I made cards today with my son's nursery. It's a very simple design that I made up. I cut triangles of shiny holographic card with zigzag scissors. Stuck a straight piece in a different colour for a trunk, wrapped shiny ribbon (you can use anything though) round the tree bit for tinsel and stuck this on top of trunk. Then I cut up small squares in different colours and textures for parcels. These were all stuck on with sticky pads cut up. I used merry christmas stickers and they stuck a small star sticker on the top. The holographic card is very effective.
