Hi,
Need some inspiration! I think my trio must be abnormal as they really don`t play with toys! They do a lot of role play games, endlessly drawing, cutting etc, and just making up their own stuff! Finding it really hard to find something they would really like as we now have over 30 dressing up costumes! They have a cupboard full of board games but unless we supervise them they just get scattered about. Any ideas?

My seven year old is having the Millenium Falcon ship from star wars lego (950 pieces) should keep him quite for a while!!!!!!!!!

JuniperDewdrop · 08/11/2004 16:48

lol triplets I was going to suggest dressing up outfits before I read further

Have they got a playhouse outside? We have a summerhouse that we still use, just wrapped up more or put the blow heater in with an extension lead. I think we'll get electrics put in soon though.

If outside is a problem what about those tents that lock into each other?

They all sound adorable and very creative, what about a visit to the art shop? Or cameras for each of them?

JuniperDewdrop · 08/11/2004 16:49

Btw have you asked them to write a list? Or if they find this difficult helping them to do it?

Hi,
Thank you all for your ideas, just had a scout around Woolies but still not inspired. I think it will end up being lots of arty stuff, I thought this morning Rebecca would love a pink net canopy to go over her bed, we could put it up on xmas eve when she is asleep so that she wakes up in it! I looked at things like binoculars, I just feel they have outgrown ELC which was my standby! Does anyone know where you can get a toy slide projector, thought that would be fun for bedtime?

just ordered DS1 (7) a robosapien. Plus a camera and other bits and bobs.

subs · 12/11/2004 13:34

current issue of junior magazine has lovely present ideas... i think i going to get a stamp kit they recommended with every letter of the alphabet - perfeect for creative kiddies. cant find issue now, but could find out where from.... or you could look next time in whsmiths!

Lonelymum · 12/11/2004 13:49

JD what is a robosapien? I have an 8 yo and a soon-to-be 7 yo and I have never heard of this. What am I missing?

subs · 12/11/2004 20:00

alphabet stamps were in red mag (not junior - shows how many mags i waste money on!)
anway they are gorgeous, £16 but really good value for what they are - on the cox and cox website in the children's section
website is www.coxandcox.co.uk i think, or google it if not

My dd aged 7 has asked for a carpentry set for Christmas - no idea where to get it from but think it's a great idea! Like your 3, triplets, she doesn't really play with toys and is very creative. For her birthday she got a (cheap) digital camera which she loves taking pictures with and sticking them in a scrapbook. HTH.

saw a fabby set of feather fairy lights the other day, might go well in the bedroom?
If there into the roleplay could you get them a popup castle type thing? Usborne do some good adventure books....
we're getting ss (nearly 7) spy kit bits, a globe, the odd cd/dvd, oh and Yu-Gi-Oh! possibly a special edition box thing.....

Trampoline for the garden, got ours from Ebay and it has a safety net. Was £399 for 13ft.

How about a weekend away or a theatre trip? I'd recommend Warwick Castle we had a great time there recently.

Sponsor a child or an animal? Something for their bedrooms?

Miaou · 14/11/2004 16:27

Dh has just found a carpentry set - here it is if anyone is interested!

lavender2 · 14/11/2004 16:33

dd wants a fluffy unicorn, some horsey stuff and dh got her bike on saturday (it's pink..that's her main pressie so she'll have a few extra things in her pillowcase)
