"K is a star, J is a king, I am nothing"

So.... I sobbed

Come make me feel better about your children being the same

There are 90 children in dd's year 2 production ... we'd be there all blardy day if they all had a line!!

Dd is always a narrator or in the choir. I have worked out why, though ... the main parts all have their costumes provided for them, and dd is so tall that she doesn't stand a chance of fitting any of them. It's always the tiny wee dots of children who get the parts because they fit the costumes!

ok longmeg, but maybe a nice costume rather than black trousers/white shirt would be nice.

oh for a pair of rudolph antlers

LongMeg · 27/11/2007 19:55

I can agree with you on that one ... dd is wearing a white t-shirt and her school skirt.

Maybe they wouldn't notice if we slipped the kids a santa hat or something ...

lol, maybe i'll just be extra pushy and get to the front with my camera and shout at my boy, just as the three wise men have their big lines

DS2 is in chorus. Have been instructed to bring in 'everyday clothes' for his costume.

At last, a costume that I can manage!

DD1 was a sheep many years back

DD2 is following in her hoofsteps - she's a pig (not sure there would have much call for pigs in a Jewish country?)

Suppose it's in the genes - I was the back end of a camel in "Joseph"...

ComeOVeneer · 27/11/2007 21:11

DD is a pig (were there pigs in the nativity?). Ds (3 next month) told me he is the donkeys father????? I asked him what he does... "I lead my son donkey down the path, my friend Ben has a gooder job, he is a sheep man with a big stick" (turns out Ben is a shepherd and ds is Joseph!)

DD telling her GM her part in the school play
DD -"I'm a star"
GM -"Did you hear that Grandad XXXX is the Star!"
DD - "No Gran I'm a star - all the girls in my class are stars"
GM - "well that's lovely darling"

Cue my mother putting away her sewing machine trying not to look disappointed.
She was the Arch Angel Gabriel last year and my mother was hoping for promotion.

stillaslowreader: "Camel
Only stage direction 'Pretend to spit'"

That is one dangerous stage direction to give a primary school child...
