It’s Thanksgiving – What are you thankful for?

(well, it is on Thursday)

There was a thread like this last year and it was lovely?

I am thankful for:

My DS, obviously ? he is truly the most wonderful thing ever ? I never imagined I could love anyone as much as I do him.

That I am alive ? there were times this year when I almost wasn?t. It is so good to be able to sit and say that I am glad to be here

All the people, both in RL and MNers, some of whom have become my good friends in RL too, for helping me when I really needed it. For setting me straight, talking to me late at night when I desperately needed company, for supporting & encouraging me when it looked like all was lost. And, for making me smile and laugh. I don?t think I could have made it without you.

So, what are you thankful for?

Lovely thread:

I am thankful for my two beautiful, funny, clever and loving dds and for my dh who helped me to bring them into the world.

I am thankful for my family who are far away but give me so much support and are the best grandparents my dds could ever hope for.

I am thankful for my friends, especially to N. who has been there for me for over 30 years and is closer to me than a sister.

I am thankful for my job, which I love, and for my colleagues who are the best anyone could hope for, and who - particularly recently - have been rocks in difficult times.

I am thankful for my students, who make my job even better. I am privileged to be able to be part of their lives as they set out into adulthood, and I hope that just occasionally I may inspire a few of them just a teeny bit. (Failing that, I'd settle for not boring the pants off them! )

I am thankful to Dante for being a genius.

I am thankful that I have so much to be thankful for, and I hope that the people close to me who are grieving or ill at this time are also able to feel thankful in some small way for the good things in their lives.

To lower the tone, I'm thankful that my collegues in the US are off the entire week so I've had a nice quiet time and finally got round to placing my Red House and Tridias xmas orders. Phew.

One little boy who was last spotted with his head in a bucket singing the theme tune to Bob the Builder.

Another little boy who was last spotted loading the washing machine with balloons.

One big boy who's out earning the money so that I can stay at home for a bit and look after the first two.
