God,I dont think Im a prude but the kids and I (age 9 and 4) were watching ITV at 8pm when an advert for 'News of the World' came on featuring a naked picture of Chantelle (BB) covering her tits with her hands.

Both kids (boys) started laughing and saying 'she's naked!!! hee hee, why is she naked mum? why are they showing a naked picture of that girl mum?' Now, Im usually very chilled and relaxed about most things, but im actually pissed off that i had to try and answer my kids questions about this.

Why were they showing those kinds of ads at 8pm on a sat night?

Am I being a prude?

I know lljkk, and generally Im not prudish AT ALL. I suppose it was the fact that they were asking 'WHY is she naked mummy?' that threw me.

"Um, because men like looking at naked women so it sells newspapers. Also she gets paid lots of money and is desperate for fame and fortune so unless you have an actual talent then there's not alot else you can do except get your tits out"

Also, its not that im against 'ordinary naked bodies', but i am against sexual objectification of young girls for monetary gain. (and am defo against it when my young boys are starting to grasp the concept).

YANBU. But the fact that she was covering her norks with her hand would have probably been the thing that intrigued my DS's. Nudity isn't a big deal in my house. They're used to it. Probably not used to nudity that looks like Chantelles mind you...

YANBU. I think its odd that "papers" like that and sometimes lad mags are not put on the top shelf because thats where they belong.
