but I have no-one to invite .

I have lots of people that I get on well with, and see on a regular basis, occasionaly going to their house for a coffee/them coming to mine (once in blue moon), or meeting up at Morrisons for a coffee. But I've just realised I don't know anyone well enough to see if they want to come and have a bottle of wine and watch a movie with me tomorrow.....how sad is that???

just one thing (I don't do this ever very often) is 8pm too late to "start" the evening? It's just that the DS's all go to bed at 8 so I wouldn't be very sociable until then.....

No thats perfect that way they can get their kiddies tucked up to

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 12:14

I suppose - I hadn't thought of that .

You see, underneath my "brash" exterior (here on MN) in RL that's the sort of person I would like to be - and am inside....but usually just stay quiet.

Maybe tommorow night would be a good time to try out the real you in RL

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 12:18

yes..........if I can find anyone (otherwise I'll be opening the BAAAAR, if not already open, on here and while the evening away LOL)

Divvy · 09/11/2007 12:18

Oh no....I feel really crap now!

its difficult when you ahve friends with young kiddies too. xxxxx

Emzy5 · 09/11/2007 12:21

i'll buy you a drink at the baaar if i'm about

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 12:29

oh f*ck it - I didn't think you'd see this thread Divvy - don't feel bad - it IS short notice after all - and I'm still going to land at your house on Monda with DS2 and DS3

QoQ - I'm just like you. On MN brave and confident etc in RL I never ask anyone round or even for coffee as such I don't have any RL friends (other than my old best buddies who are 120 miles away). So when dh goes away I spend the evening with pizza SKY+ and a cold lonely sofa and bed. I know how hard it can be and give you the advice I can't take myself - go for it!! I used to live in Northants - if I still did I'd descend on you with pizza and vino in an instant!!

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 12:35

thanks Misty

I've just composed a text which I'm about to send to all the people I ever "coffee" with here.....shall post if I get any responses (once I find the courage to actually click "send")

lol QofQ I am now finding my round this place!

For the record, I am crap at friendships, getting them going, and keeping them going and am a recluse in this house most of the time!

Sometimes I dont go out the front door for 3 or more days!..but then I dont have a school-run to do just now.

I hope you get someone to come round.....or just enjoy your me time

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 12:42

well I noticed you'd only posted on 2 threads - both yesterday and figured "oh well she won't notice this little whingy thread"........guess I was wrong.

So I guess you're sat in the house this afternoon then.....just like me until 3.14 when I pop next door for 2 minutes and get home again at 3.16.....was going to say why not come roudn for a coffee.......but then realised you said that car wasn't working (or did I get the wrong end of the stick somehwere??)

ok text sent to 4 people, sent an email to someone else (that like me is online most of the time so I know she'll see it).....and I may be brave at the school gates and invite one or two (although I suspect my nerves will get in the way and stop me......)

Divvy · 09/11/2007 13:12

No our car is fine, but dh is home in awhile and we going town as its bill paying day.

What about your church friends?

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 13:15

They're some of the ones I've just sent texts to.....thing is one person I would invite (and may come if free) is the mother of the person I've emailed......and I'm not sure the daughter (or the mother perhaps for that matter LOL) would be mightily impressed by a girls night in with each other .

But most of my church friends are older.......I don't go to their houses for coffee, they don't come here- and tbh as lovely and supportive as they are I'm not sure I would want them to come for boozy evening

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 13:16

ps - just read your message again (on FB) and realised the car that needs fixing belongs to your friend - not you

Divvy · 09/11/2007 13:34

And there is nothing worse than sitting in church on a sunday morning with a hang over!!

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 13:51

oh that doesn't worry me..........I've played the organ at church while still drunk

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 15:10

How was you bill paying trip to town??

Sounds thrilling.......I do 2 or 3 of those each month terribly dreary.

Friend I emailed can't come.....and I know there's no point inviting her mum over instead - as she's going off to Birmingham with her for the day LOL. No reply to any of my texts yet

Divvy · 09/11/2007 15:15

It was boring, as we didnt have enough time to go in Costa as dh got to go docs in a while.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 15:58

awww.........what's Costa like? I've never been in there - always looks full of Chavs whenever I walk past

OP posts:
Divvy · 09/11/2007 16:40

That would be me then!

No its really nice and lily loves it in there...its kind of like a pub, but it sell coffee...we feel grown up going in there..like its some sort of trendy wine-bar LMAO

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 16:54

PMSL - you said it .

Is it very expensive? (or should I say - I guess it's more than Morrisons.........but it's not as expensive as the one in the middle of the shopping centre is it)

Update on the "no mates" - got one text reply - she can't come as she's working until 11........other that complete silence, so it looks like it'll be me, myself and I

Divvy · 09/11/2007 17:09

£1.80 but after you have had one from there...your 70p one from morrisons will taste like dish-water!

We should do posh coffee next week one day!!

You should get a really girlie film for yourself and indulge yourself in some nice chocys!
