advice needed! birthday party disaster!

Desperate for advice - I've just been let down badly by my party entertainers (two teenager girls who teach children to dance and spray their hair with glitter) that my daughter had set her heart on. They had DOUBLE BOOKED! Now I've a hall, 28 kids and no entertainer. Can anyone recommend someone good for a six year old girl in London/Kent/south east areas? The other worry is, the 'lively' boys from our street are coming - they ran riot last year! So I need someone, hopefully disco/dance who can also do crowd control! Have been up in the night worrying about this, so stressed!!!

if all else fails, could you rope in a couple of family members or friends to help you out.
You could do a similar thing as what you had planned.
split kids into groups of 4 or so. each group picks a corner. your friends could each be in charge of a section as to where their talent lies. one styling, one dancing/choreography(sp), etc.you can ask friends for accesorries (scarves, feathery stuff, sun glasses etc. you can pick up make up bits quite cheaply and some cleanser wipes/ baby wipes.)
each would spend 15-20 mins with each group and move on to next. then groups practice for 10 or so mins they can have same song. then at end they show everyone their dance. you could give prizes, to make things fairer maybe have a everyone wins make four catergories like originality, moves, stlye, teamwork, etc. as well as some indivitual prizes.
take lots of pics and even film it. Ypu can send pics out after party and to go that bit further certificates.
as for lively boys, split them up amongst groups so they aren't together. The thought of prizes should keep them behaved (we can but hope)

you can tell I love parties cant ya!!

Amandamum - not exactly what you are looking for but you sound desparate!

Micky the magician is fantastic - kept a party of 30-40 children aged from 3-9 absoutely rapt for 2 hours (at my 40th!).

He is based in Blackheath but we are in Kent and he travelled out that far. Charges about £90-120 depending on what you want!

If you are interested let me know and I will dig out contact details when I get home tonight and post them here!

Hi girls thanks to all of you, you are fab with those suggestions how did you manage to be so inventive? Champs - I will be in my corner with a bottle of gin ha ha. Soapbox, would love to have details for Micky magician. to complicate matters, my twin sons have cerebral palsy and can't walk, so am looking out for REALLY inventive party solutions for the future - Micky might suit them! So thanx, I'll take that if you track it down.
