How old is too old for mini skirts?

I have taken to wearing shortish skirts again (above knee by a bit) and after watching WNTW tonight I am worrying a bit. That woman did not look her best in those minis. I am still in my 20s and have quite decent legs...can I get away with them? Tend to wear classier ones with tights and slouchy boots as opposed to fishnets and heels.

Terrified of becoming old woman dressing as if I am 17!

Age has nothing to do with it - I've seen teenagers with bad legs wearing minis and they look awful. I'm 38 and still wear them occasionally - with thick tights - it's to please DH really, says I have the best legs ever...!!! Jerry Hall still wears them and how old is she? 50-ish?

I wear them ( am 39 ) with tights and flat shoes or boots. Not very short ones though. And never with heels as I don't want to look like mutton...

Is it worse to look like mutton dressed as lamb or mutton dressed as mutton?

The question is looming ever larger for me.

How about mutton dressed as a very stylish and quite young ewe?

donnie · 28/10/2004 15:32

or mutton dressed as scrag end and offal in my case!

Its fine if you've got the legs, I last wore one at 38 when I was very slim, but since being preg at 39 and giving birth at 40 my legs are too "large" now. Also my dd would be horrified.

my dd's are horrified too cam, but i still do it
