Hangover cure needed

Went out for my 30th birthday last night.
Promised myself I wouldn't but ended up mixing my drinks and I now feel like death warmed up!
Didn't get in until 4.30 but have only had about 4/5 hours sleep.
Any miraculous cures, apart from hair of the dog, very gratefully received.

Always works a treat:cafeine + sugar to wake you up + fizz to calm your tum
Also salty crisps & lots of water !

emmatmg · 24/10/2004 16:55

bacon sarnie and a cup of tea.

acer · 24/10/2004 17:06

Full Fry Up with a cup of tea.

acer · 24/10/2004 17:06

Oh and lots of water I suppose

eldestgirl · 25/10/2004 07:32

1 Alka Seltzer, 1 full fat coke (preferably a bit flat), and if you are feeling really sick, force feed yourself a kid's full fat yoghurt. Boiled egg and marmite toast for tea...
Works for me everytime, though naturally, I swear that last time was really the last time...
Need to get pg again, then I can't have more than one drink

jollytot · 25/10/2004 11:49

Def a full english breakfast - the greasier the better. Also, bit late, \i know, but taking 2 paracetamols with a big glass of water before you go to bed is a big help. And finally, vit C helps too. You can tell I've been there a few times, can't you!

lavender2 · 25/10/2004 11:51

if you have any sweets in the house they can be surprisingly good ...get in the shower...have a smoothie (milk, some fruit wizzed in a food blender works wonders....that's if you can handle the nosie of the blender)

Tetley · 25/10/2004 12:00

You must have a very strange blender, Lavender2....'nosie'

Lucosade & some chocolate work (a bit!) for me

lavender2 · 25/10/2004 12:17

it was blackjacks...those licqourice penny things that were about when we were bairns (dd gave me one on Saturday morning after session on Friday night....it really did some good)

lavender2 · 25/10/2004 12:19

I once had a two-day hangover. Many MANY years ago. I was, in fact, 20 or so, and had just been to an 'affinity group' meeting of my non-violent direct action group (it was THAT long ago) at a rather posh Oxford college, in preparation for blockading a US air base. Unfortunately I started the evening by attending a 'brown rice' fundraising evening in the same college and the rather civilised bloke who had invited me (who is now a BBC correspondent) ordered a bottle of wine with said brown rice and, I seem to remember, offered me a glass of port afterwards. Then I staggered off to the affinity group, who were all sitting around with home made cider and a spliff.

I will draw a veil, but the memories are still piercing. And embarrassing.
