Job advertised. Not sure if it's a scam or legit?

Hi.

Hoping for some opinions on this job advert I've applied to. Its as seen in thr screenshots (don't want their name to show in search results etc in case they are legitimate)

I'm obviously hoping it's legitimate but just not sure. Could I end up doing a months worth of work and not get paid?

I've done research on the company. Seen they do have their details on companies house. Registered June 2019 as a Ltd company. Now the job advert says the company is in Nottingham. (although it's a remote job/ working from home. I'm in Glasgow) The companies house page says their registered correspondence address is an accoutants address is Suffolk. Their personal details section shows their country of residence as Wales. So this is flashing as a no go just by those details.

Seems a bit too risky to me but thought I'd ask on here for some advice.

If it was legit, why would you be listing stuff using your personal Facebook account? That suggests they dont want the company associated with the properties?!

Doesn't look good to me OP. I would avoid!

Googling gumtree property scams brings up a couple of news stories - the scammed people mention that one of the details that made them trust the listing was that the person had been selling on gumtree/FB for a number of years and seemed legit.

So it seems likely to me that this company wants you to put them on your private account to take advantage of your good reputation and lure people in.

Otherwise why wouldn’t they have an account in the name of the company?

I would avoid. Setting up a company with companies house doesn’t mean much in terms of legitimacy.

That sounds well dodgy. Seems like they want to come across as small, private people rather than a large landlord.

Otherwise, like @InTheLongGrass said, why be required to use your private accounts?!

Indeed. It costs £12 to set up a company, and takes about ten minutes. If that.

Hadn't fully considered the implications of me posting and then those renters being scammed Confused no chance in hell will I even be emailing them back. Actually scared they now have my details in my cv.

If they contaxt you, just tell them you've recently been offered a different position so won't be taking the opportunity forward. There should be no animosity towards that.

It sounds more like a scam.

There's an article here of similar scams:
www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinburgh-news/edinburgh-woman-warns-scam-landlords-18734463

You will list houses that are up for sale. The scammer would've called the estate agent to make sure the house is empty. For the renters to view the house they'll be charged a deposit fee as proof that they're not time wasters.
They want you to list the house on their behalf so that it will be hard to trace them.

There's so many ways the scam could go. The person advertising the job might even ask you to send them a deposit to secure the job etc.
