I mean when adding them to a choc chip muffin really

same ingredients as normal .. except the granulated sugar turned to brown sugar and added 2 oz oats and yet they are titled 'healthy'

what do I not get here?

They add fibre and they release their energy more slowly so bring down the GI of the muffin.

Slow energy release stops you nibbling/bingeing later because you don't get a crash like you do with a sugary donut.

do muffins taste nice with oats in, just out of interest?

I mean, if they didn't taste nice I'd leave oats for the flapjack.

TwigorTreat · 09/10/2007 17:56

well they're OK

but a little bitty / gritty compared to yer standard choc chip muffin

but the kids love them

agree in future I'm leaving it for raisin oat cookies and the ilk where the roughness helps
