Hi
My neighbour's cleaner does't stay for the amount of time I think she is supposed to. I see her going about 2 hours in to a three hour shift and she smokes outside their front door too.

Should I tell my neighbour?

doobydoo · 11/10/2004 19:20

Me too JanH.Oh how will it all end? This pressing moral dilema.

Asda · 11/10/2004 19:22

Well I would be pretty mad if my cleaner was having guests and smoking whilst she was supposed to be doing my cleaning.

jane103 · 11/10/2004 19:25

Well no one has told me If I should say anything.

I think you ought to Jane. As you said your neighbour hates smoking

jane103 · 11/10/2004 19:27

and I really dont know why you all find it funny, we live in a very small street so its hard not to see things.

jane103 · 11/10/2004 19:28

Right, shall I try out the smoking first then and not tell her about the hours?

My Mum is in need of a cleaner so may be if she sacks her I will have first go?

Maybe you should get some nets Jane

NomDePlume · 11/10/2004 19:29

Umm, they have, Jane. The majority have said that they would say nothing, in your shoes.

doobydoo · 11/10/2004 19:29

I did not realise you needed to be TOLD I thought that reading the majority of the messages posted would have given you ageneral feeling that you should probably not interfere.

clairabelle · 11/10/2004 19:29

I would mention it in a hope you don't mind me saying but...kind of way. It's up to her then if she wants to do anything with the information.

jane103 · 11/10/2004 19:30

oh alright then, and not about the boyfreind then too?

Beccarollover · 11/10/2004 19:38

I think you should invite her round to yours tell her you wont tell her boss if she does a quick tidy up of yours before she gets off an hour early

jane103 · 11/10/2004 19:41

Tha is a really good idea actually. Ta.

OP posts:
JanH · 11/10/2004 19:41

And tell her not to worry about her boyfriend while she's tidying for you as you will entertain him.

Beccarollover · 11/10/2004 19:42

I was joking but maybe it is a good idea - depends if your bothered about having one up on your neighbour!

jane103 · 11/10/2004 19:42

Well ever since the business with her boyfreind I dont suppose it matters.

JanH · 11/10/2004 19:47

I was joking too jane! (Sorry, should have added a to that post!)

PicadillyCircus · 11/10/2004 19:50

This is one of the reasons I love Mumsnet

JanH · 11/10/2004 19:50

"You don't have to be mad to come here but it helps"

jane103 · 11/10/2004 19:51

The thing is that if someone at my work was going home early every day I would expect someone to speak up.

Bu then that's how we are at Customer Care.
