Advice wanted for new business venture

Hi,I recently posted a request for your thoughts on what you would like to see in a new indoor play area. Thank you for all your replies, it has really given me something to work on. I am now at the stage of putting together a business plan, and need to prove that there are people out there who want certain facilities, (eg a quiet area, a separate gated area for toddlers etc...). Would any of you be prepared for me to email them a short questionaire that they can fill out, (and maybe get friends to fill out), and then return to me, so I can take it to the bank manager to show what the customers are requesting! With your help I hope to design and finance the best indoor playarea in the UK. Of course if it all works you will all be invited for a great party prior to opening! TIA Annie

I'd be happy to, ask Mumsnet for my email address.

I didn't see the original thread Annie, but would be happy to help. Whenever I have been to indoor play areas a number of things stick out, mainly that parents should have to take responsibility for their children, some play areas are attached to pubs so parents dump their kids in the play areas whilst they have a pint in the bar. Also the helpers are often nowhere to be seen, more often than not they are 18 year olds who are more interested in chatting to their boyfriends than watching the children. Definitely a separate play area for under two's and under 5's that is strictly regulated. A lot of Wacky Warehouses have these but you still get the older kids jumping around them making it unsafe for the littler ones.

So there, those are my ideas anyway!

AnnieP, I've asked Mumsnet to send you my e-mail address - I'd be glad to fill in your questionnaire.

There's a great one in Gillingham, Dorset, called the Funny Farm. It has an indoor and outdoor play area, decent, toddler-friendly food plus OK food for adults, its bright and airy and doesn't smell of feet!! But again the toddler area isn't strictly regulated - a much older boy pushed dd down the slide and now she won't go back

Ems · 12/09/2002 17:26

Toddlers definitely need to feel safe and older ones able to run wild.

We went to a good one in Torquay, Rainbow Fun House I think, in a converted church, fantastic setting, in the centre they had the 3 lane wavy slide that you sit in a sack, great fun. That was our favourite as not many have these.

Thank you all, I had no idea I would have so much support, I didn't think many people would be prepared to give up some of their time to help. So TY!!
