Hi Mumsnetters,

A friend of a friend recently lost her little girl at 3 days old to a rare heart condition called HLHS.

Sarah Grace Boxes

She has bravely gone on to setup a charity in her baby's name called Sarah Grace Boxes - it provides parents of premature babies and those who have suffered a neonatal loss with all they need to create a memory box for their baby.

The most urgent need is for blankets, newborn hats, booties and clothes. If you have any unwanted items I would be so grateful if you could send them on to me so that they can be recycled for the boxes. If you can help please contact me at [email protected].

Thanks so much in advance.
Love
Dejags

PS: have checked with the powers that be at MN and they are okay with me posting this

Hi Littlemissbossy & Susanmt

If you could contact me : [email protected] I would really appreciate it.

Susanmt - knitted items are very much appreciated. If you send me and email I'll forward it onto Sarah's mum and she can provide you with exact specifications...

I now have loads of emails to answer - DH has been in hospital and I have had the children by myself for two days but he is home now so I should get some time to respond tomorrow.

Thanks again
Dejags

Hi Dejags

I have two cot blankets that have been sitting in my airing cupboard for some time now (children now 6 & 4!). I've been reluctant to clear them out as they are the last baby things that I have but this seems like the perfect thing to do with them. Good luck.

sorry littlemissbossy - I misunderstood. I am not really comfortable posting my home address on here - you could always contact Sarah's mum through her website.

Hello Ladies

I just wanted to introduce myself. I have just joined, but have been keeping an eye on this discussion as I am going to take over the email acct once Dejags has moved.

It is my friend that lost her daughter and I really wanted to say THANKYOU and ((HUGS)) as you've all ben fabulous and I can't believe the response this has stirred up.

Of course, the hugest thank you and hug HAS to go to Dejags, who is one in a million.

So far there are 70 boxes, so this year 70 families have been provided with help after trauma. With the response that this discussion is getting though I think we'll double that.....fingers crossed - lets try and more than double it for Sarah's family.

Love

Hi Alimor, welcome to Mumsnet

My DD has just woken up, so I'm off to dig out blankets etc for Sarah Grace's charity.

Hi Everybody

Sorry that I haven't managed to keep on following this up. I have been so busy organising our move in a weeks' time that it's fallen by the wayside.

I have had two parcels - Littlerach - yours arrived on Friday thanks very, very much!!

If any of you are still wanting to send stuff on, please don't send the things to my address as we will no longer be here, Alimor has kindly offered to look after this once I go - if you email her at [email protected] she will give you the correct mailing address.

Once again thanks for all your all your support, this is such a good cause, I am just sorry that I don't have more time to give it the attention that it deserves.

Alimor - thanks for taking this over (have emailed you)

This sounds like a wonderful project dejags - sorry but I'm insanely hanging onto all of dd's clothes and stuff. Not that I'm planning to have another one, I'm just a sentimental twit!! Have donated instead though.

jnbsmum · 24/10/2004 20:10

This has just touched me completly. huge{{{hugs}}} going out to everyone in this situation.
I will have a look round for any blankets i have left and will send them off asap.
I'll try and organise pairs of teddies too
