I spent £212.35 at the vets this afteroon after out dog cut her leg on one that had been left on the beach.
Shes got staples in her leg, had to be sedated and have an antibiotic jab

Someone (ie the twat that left it there) had taken the wire mesh off the top of the BBQ and left it on the pebbles, I dread to think if it had been alittle boy/girl cutting themselve on it because they obviously weren't clean.

WHy do peole leave stuff like this laying around?? We often take home rubbish that isn't ours because people can't be asked to do it themsleves.

So anyway. Pleas etake you BBQS home with you.

Thanks

Your poor dog. Is she going to be okay?

In Devon I chased a crisp bag across the bach as it had blown out of my DD's hand. A bloke told me to leave it as it had blown near to the sea's edge. There is no excuse for leaving litter.

Slubberdegullion · 29/08/2007 17:51

Bloody hell, that's a massive bill. Your poor dog.

Litter louts are a particular bete noir of mine, especially in places where people will be walking around bare foot.

MamaG · 29/08/2007 17:52

Bloody hell! They are very sharp.

Poor dog.

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 17:53

crisp bags or any bags for that matter are fatal for some animals in the sea.

Turtles think they are jelly fish and eatthem, it then gets stuck inside there stamachs/intestines etc and it kills them.

(BTW once we worked out what had cut Jess's leg we went back to the beach and bought the bbq'a home to put i the bin)

I am trying to work out how to incorprate this message in my Year 1 seaside day - about taking rubbish home. Hopefully if the children know they can tell the parents off!

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 17:59

cazzy, I contacted the local newspaper so if you wait a few days there should be a photo of Jess(and us probably) online for you to use if you want..

My friend's boy fell on a disposable BBQ that had been left on a pebble beach and all the stones got hot too resulting in a nasty burn. Terrible.

cazzybabs · 29/08/2007 18:19

That would be good - as long as it is not too graphic!

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 18:30

She has a big purple banage on her leg so theres no blood and gore.

(just looked at the pet insurance and FFS, theres £200 excess.. Even more cross now!)

for you. Wouldn't dream of leaving any litter never mind this. Lazy bastards

kiskidee · 29/08/2007 18:40

ouch for you and your dog.

I have proper Weber barbeque for the last 9 yrs - much more ecological & better for the environment than disposable bbq's.

so thanks for the reason to polish my halo today.

LadyTophamHatt · 29/08/2007 19:39

oh LTH, your poor pooch.

Hope she gets better and hope nasty litter bug treads on a rusty nail and gets rust poisoning.
