Just back after a week away, can't believe no-one is talking about this. Surely it's the best thing to have been on TV for a long time?
So many things to discuss;
Darren Day - did you know he had been in rehab (I didn't). Isn't he just a bit precious?
Rhona Cameron - how annoying?
Uri Geller - what a dirty old man
Tara PT - actually, I quite like her.
Nigel Benn - another prat
Tony Blackburn - doesn't he look old? And when will he find a bucket gag?
And so on and so forth.....
Please, someone put me out of my misery, and let me know that dh and I are not the only ones watching this.

Yes KS - she certainly seemed to like the look of Tara in her heels last night!

Not convinced about that theory - I went to an agricultural Aussie boardng school where castrating sheep and cutting heads off chickens etc was de rigeur. I would die rather than go camping these days let alone dip my big toe into the jungle.

Well, just been watching on ITV2 (I feel a responsibility, having started the thread), it appears that Tara has gone missing - they were having their morning meeting to delegate tasks, etc, and they couldn't find her. Unfortunately, the programme ended there, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I can't believe what an attention-seeking, childish, downright annoying little drama queen she is. As far as I can see, Darren's not really done anything to her - and she calls him childish. The woman is obviously cracking up (and I agree with Christine - it's nicotine and sex deprevation that's turned her mind!).
Jodee, to answer your question, I live in the place that was known as the "most violent town in Britain". So we're all rock here. We're a city now, so things are changing - we're now the most violent city in Britain. (Actually, I don't think we are any more - must go out looklng for a ruck on Saturday).
Sobernow, according to Darren, who is apparently quite friendly with Cliff, he (Cliff that is, although apparently Darren fancies her too) went out with O N-J, and is definately not gay - he really is a "batchelor boy" (cue a lot of coughing freom Nigel and Rhona, but Darren insisted he would know if he was gay). The thing about the man from the Shadows (Bruce someone) was not really elaborated on, but Tony told Darren he had a story about Cliff and this man, but was not prepared to share it on camera - promised to tell him "later" (presumably once they finish).

Well I feel sorry for Tara, she is desperately seeking approval from her peers. Given her history of drink and drug abuse, I am surprised they let her on the show, they screen BB contestants to see if they are mentally fit, did they not do the same for "help, Im a celebrity"? Surely they would have rejected TPT for being so vulnerable. Hope she wins. I think tony B is creepy.

ks, if they are voting people off for being boring, then why oh why is Nell still there? I swear the woman hasn't managed to string an entire sentence together the entire time she's been there.

bundle · 04/09/2002 14:59

once saw tony b at work, coming out of an office, he was the smallest, orangest man I've ever seen

nics1stbaby · 04/09/2002 16:52

I feel a bit sorry for TPT... Darren and her have been hugging and kissing all week, but suddenley Darren's played the 'oh, she's been coming on to me all week' card to Christina. Christina believes him, but let's face it, he's just realised that all this flirting with TPT was starting to get a little real, and maybe, just maybe his fiancee might be getting a little peeved with him. I mean, what's all this 'I've written a song for my fiancee'... I think i'm going to be sick. Too little too late me thinks.

Ooh, also, would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Uri tried to explain all that groping to his wife.. oops.

..and agree, Mr Blackburn is totally creepy... Pop pickers.

emsiewill · 04/09/2002 22:19

Well, not quite so exciting tonight, although Nell seemed to have a lot to say for herself (well for her, anyway...)
It was a bit mean doing that snake challenge after Christine had had the pig one yesterday - I'm sure Tony only nominated himself because he thought it would be easy.
And I've started to like Darren again - enjoyed the interview with Ant & Dec at the end, and how anyone could put up with Tara for 6 minutes, let alone 6 years, I'll never understand.....

I was disappointed tonight that Christine went - I think it would have been more entertaining with Christine & Tony in the last 2. Still, it's been v. entertaining the last few nights, especially Tony and his logs.

I can't believe that Tara didnt go tonight after seeing her behaviour. After saying she was a strong swimmer she let Chrisine (in Tara's own words 'an old lady' go in to do the underwater swimming task. I actually liked her at the beginning but I now think she is a very spoilt and indulged youngish lady. I also feel very much for her because she has had a lot of problems in her life, and I can't help thinking her parents have a lot of responsibility here. God, this sounds a bit serious doesnt it?? VOTE TONY!!

Willow2 · 08/09/2002 19:26

I'm sorry, but anyone addicted to such a ridiculous syrup cannot be allowed to win - regardless of spoilt Tara may be.

aloha · 08/09/2002 19:52

I heard Cliff had a thing with the wife of one of the Shadows and the guilt of it (shagging his friend's wife) turned him a bit funny, hence his current persona. I expect that's the story. And I have that from a VERY good contemporary source not a million miles away from my own family....

aloha · 08/09/2002 19:53

Ps felt sad for Christine who is v sensitive and jolly despite appalling political views and am thoroughly enjoying Tony's log fetish.

emsiewill · 08/09/2002 22:44

So, Tony is the king of the jungle - I was surprised, I actually thought Tara would win. Still, it's all been good entertainment.
So, did anyone see "Popstars, the Rivals"?......

I loved that, too, sobernow. especially when DD & TB played along, and were going on about a ranson that Neil had refused to pay. For a moment, I think she really believed them....

I saw popstars - I have to say I thought Pete Waterman was gratutitously rude - I'd have thought that at this initial audition stage, it would be enough to say 'No thanks' rather than 'You're totally rubbish, can't sing and you're not going through.' I know people are expecting that when they audition, but I can't help feeling that it is in order to make good television than to give them constructive feedback. Come back Simon Cowell - all is forgiven!

Willow2 · 09/09/2002 12:43

Yes he was blooming rude - but then again, some of the contestants needed to be told that they were blooming awful and were wasting their time. The music biz is notoriously hard to succed in, and if you sound like a cat being strangled chances are you have no chance. Better to wise up to the fact than spend the next ten years attempting to make it (and shredding people's ear drums in the process) when you could be concentrating on making your way in another profession.
