Anyone got chocolate brown painted walls?

Wondered if they look nice, and you are pleased, or too dull?
have just tried dulex tester pots - 'intense truffle' with 'mellow mocha' ( a creamy beige), but obviously hard to imagine a room of it! was doing two walls of each, opposites, in my dining room, now to have settee and computer/tv in it.
Any thoughts?

i have one wall chocolate (cos i love the colour) and other three coffee/mocha colour other wise i think it would be too dark and make the room very small.

thegirlwithnoname · 19/08/2007 16:43

I think it sounds lovely although I would only do one wall in the brown make it a feature wall, (if you have a fireplace make it that wall)

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 19/08/2007 16:44

gosh it would make me want to lick the walls.

cornsilk · 19/08/2007 16:46

We have walls similar to nannyjo's. My dh's idea - I don't really like it that much although it hides the handprints quite well!

I have two alcoves in my living room painted in dark chocolate suede effect paint and I love em.

DemobCod · 19/08/2007 16:48

are you planning a dirty protest?

geordiemacminx · 19/08/2007 16:49

I have crown (or it might be dulux) Chocolate contesse I think - again its a feature wall with a cream fireplace. Its lovely.

Tigi · 19/08/2007 16:51

It would be on my window wall, and the one opp. The 'mellow mocha' on the other two longer walls.

i'm not sure about two of each colour, i think one would look better but thats just my oinion

Tigi · 19/08/2007 17:01

The window wall wouldn't show much by time curtains are up...
Just been looking on dulex site, you can play with their decorating project maker.
Or any other colours anyone done that look good ? Needs something to go with brown sofa though.

I would do 3 of the light colour and 1 of the dark one

Eddas · 19/08/2007 17:02

I used mellow mocha in my hallway. Some times it looks brown and others it look a bit lilac Not sure why? Maybe as there aren't any windows the light can be funny?

I'm planning on decorating my front room with one wall darkish brown and the other 3 light brown. A 'feature' wall

I did consider doing the window wall and the one opposite in dark brown but think one wall will look better

I love my duck egg blue and mocha walls with chocolate brown sofas and mirrors etc

nutcracker · 19/08/2007 17:04

Pecka, what range is the duck egg colour from ???

Tigi · 19/08/2007 17:05

There was a gorgeous pic in sunday mirror mag in july with these colours, thats what got me going. The pic shows brown and cream walls, with cushions and pictures/vases etc in the blue.

I did my kitchen with one long duck-egg blue coloured (ish) wall, with a matching blind on the other side,(remaining walls are creamy coloured) and lots of wood, looks really nice. I played around with the dulux site for this too, and there is a duck egg blue on my 'projects' but i can't remember if this is the one I chose, as it looks a bit bright on the online pic.

Rather than full-on brown we went for a bricky red colour, more brown than red ifywim. But it's not a very big room (for computer, and probably kids' room later on.)

PeckaRolloverAgain · 19/08/2007 17:21

nutcracker - its the laura ashley one - perfect

Took me ages to find the right one

nutcracker · 19/08/2007 17:22
