At my best I've done 5 miles (measured accurately as it was a race) in 42 mins and 5 seconds. It was a flat course with no headwind.

dinny · 07/08/2007 13:34

wow, that's v good - so an hour isn't too bad for an easy kind of run...?

I think 45 mins is a good speed. That is my fastest.

and hour is good

I've done it in 50 minutes but my route has two steep hills the second of which reduced me to trotting pace.

wonder what the X-trainer equivalent of running five miles on the road - it's much less work than running, isn't it?

9 minute mile-ing is a good pace...just still able to hold a breathy conversation..so that would be....9 X 5 miles......err....

Wot Beetroot said!!

right, sorry to be a pain, but what is it in kilometres (so can get some idea of how fast to go from treadmill running)

I can run comfortably at 9kph but find 10 challenging (to say the least)!
