I can understand being a bit ;( about selling tiny baby clothes, but why can I not sell my maternity wear?

I just spent ages typing in the first outfit into Trade Me (like ebay but for New Zealanders) and when it came to press the final button I just found it really hard and put my reserve up to a really high price to try and stop people buying it.

I can't bring myself to list the others at all.

I've said for 4+ years now I am only having one child - but somehow I just can't get rid.

I don't have a problem with getting rid of clothes generally. I only have ds's baby clothes up to 18 months - everything else I've sold. I've sold all my old office clothes and shoes. So why the heck am I hanging onto clothes with enormous elasticated waists?

Sorted it all, photigraphed, listed on ebay, packed in anticipation, reneged on a deal cos I got postage waay wrong and sent it all to my mum's attic!

you don't have to sell them ALL. Keep anything you really like. But sell most.

Here's the thing. If you have a new baby, you will LIKE buying new maternity wear and new clothes, and this way you can with a cear conscience

If I have another baby no way will I be able to buy things this nice - I was working and bought really nice stuff that I do actually still like.

After having DD (2nd child) I quite happily bagged up all my maternity clothes and gav e them to a charity shop. I suspect I may have been whistling merrily whilst doing so

do you need to get rid fo it (money, space)? If not, then pack it back up in a box and put it away. When you're ready to let it go, you will be able to.
Re baby clothes, I gave everything to a friend who was having twins apart form a couple of dresses which DD3 uses for her dollies/teddies - it was nice to see the baby stuff being used, and even nicer to see the couple of special dresses every day (although perhaps not being teddy's nightie )

yes, am pg with no 3, as soon as I find out its sex I shall be bagging up the redundant clothes for the charity shop/friends etc. I KNOW I am done here.

Same here, only things I am really sentimental about have been kept. I can't bear to part with our moses basket!

Oh yes, shoes are amazing. I have filched dd1's first school shoes, she only needed one pair all yr and they are in a terrible state.

And little wellies...

Don't really need the money or the space, but it seems silly not to have both. It's just I can't do it. I explained to dh that I couldn't list them and he said he understood.

If you want to re-use your maternity stuff make sure you have baby no2 in the same season as baby no1!!! I kept loads of gorgeous maternity stuff from DS who was born in a very cold winter and none of it was any good when DD was born on the hottest day of the year!!!!

Maternity wear has been repacked in suitcase, apart from the one which is on Trade Me - which has 3 watchers but thankfully so far no bids.

Dh has been informed what this means...

Reserve has been met on the maternity outfit which I did list. I won it in a competition so I can bear to be parted from it. Plus I hate yoga.

Everything else is staying in the suitcase.

Any increase in girth at the moment is because I have discovered how to make gluten free caramel squares.

I am staring at a huge box of ds's clothes 0 to 3 yrs (he's now 4) and wondering why they are STILL cluttering up my bedroom....
