I would think that you had over ordered on your Waitrose shopping...

It would definately bring a smile to my face, and I guess I would enjoy eating - but think I would waste far too much time trying to work out why someone had bought me cheese for my birthday,... and lifes far to short for that...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 23/07/2007 19:39

Oh dear.

Just raised DH's hopes...

"Who's going to get it for me?!"

I'd give it to DH if you got it for me.

He would clearly love that.

as long as it comes with crackers and dessert wine I'll eat it all!

FlameDelacour · 23/07/2007 19:41

Erm, Hunker... breastfeeding, angry fist waving at formula are one thing for breaking the ban... but cheese gifts? can you really justify it?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 23/07/2007 19:43

I have a DH who runs a cheese club once a week at work... He's in the room with me now. I blame him

My parents like giving food as presents. Whenever we went to visit someone who lived away, they'd buy some scrumpy (not the really wild sort that comes in a barrel, but slightly better mannered stuff that comes in bottles)and some very mature cheddar. And smoked salmon or trout if they'd been in Scotland. Got a bit predictable after a while I suppose.

tassisssss · 23/07/2007 20:06

i've bought lovely cheeses from a cheese shop for a friend's birthday. he loved it, but I knew he would. can't imagine buying it for many people.

(though I do think stinky cheese is a good gift to give a newly un-pregnant friend IYSWIM)

lionheart · 23/07/2007 20:21

I'd say I've always loved you and now I know why.

deaconblue · 23/07/2007 20:56

But it's £45 for one lump of cheese FGS. It would ahve to be jolly nice cheese for a real cheese fan imo. Cod, please don't buy me cheese for my bday
