I am sorry if this has been done but I was thinking if every Mumsnetter added one idea we'd all be in a position to prevent boredom throughout the holidays.
TIA

Make a papier-mache mask
catch bugs
turn table into a boat
treasure hunt/paper chase
board games
make a den in the garden
cooking
painting
salt dough models
bike rides ...............

I am actually logged onto the yellowmoon website ordering crafty things to make/do during the holidays..

DD is 3.6 and is already missing preschool!

will be watching ideas with interest! even if I couldn't add anything contructive!..

pond dipping if you have a nearby pond/river
or get kids to make a picnic and go out somewhere in the countryside, its quite easy to waste a day like that
If near the sea then rockpooling is good fun too

Since we all have vile weather, puddle jumping, followed up with a bubble bath, change of clothes and some hot chocolate

Watch a DVD, but close the curtains, turn off the lights, make 'tickets' and have some pop corn

Buy roll of cheap lining paper. Draw round child. Decorate, colour in, etc. Cut out and stick up on wall.

Did this with 5yo DD last weeka nd she loved it. Spent ages doing it. Now proudly on wall.

we've cooked chocolate biscuits today and we've been for a long scavenger hunt in the rain which included lots of puddle jumping

Now ds is eager to turn all of his treasure into a picture

Oh Hulababy, me and dd1 (3.3) did that the other week, she loved it! We did 3 poses so that the final thing looked like Charlie's Angels.

We also use a length of lining paper as a 'river', draw fish, ducks etc then thrown bread to the ducks, go paddling etc. Or draw a plate each on a piece and draw food on each one for a picnic. Mostly though she likes to poke pencils through it and make lots of little holes
