I am organising my DB's fiance's hen night and am so stumped for ideas it is unbelievable!!

Not getting married until Feb 06 but need to get some ideas together on prices and dates etc quite soon in order to know what people can realistically afford etc.

Have tried looking at some party organising companies on the web but they all seem to be very similar - there is a wide age range going so i really need something that will appeal to everyone, more of a comical theme as aposed to trendyi imagine. ideas - what did you do fro your hen night?
Anyone got any

theres a thread on " how much is too much for a hen night" here

coddychops · 14/09/2004 14:51

btw does she difintiely wanyt on?
my idea is to do exactly as she wants

SpringChicken · 14/09/2004 14:53

She definitely wants one - the only limitations she has given me is it must only be for one night as aposed to a weekend to keep the costs down - apart from that she wants me to organise it all and for it to be a surprise.

Your right - all the companies are very similar and not everyones idea of fun.

I organised my best friends hen night earlier this year and we went to Center Parcs for the weekend - it was great. And although they say you can't have hen parties there we said it was a fmily birthday and they were fine. We went to a party on the Saturday night and there were loads of hen parties there - all with the veils and 'L' plates.

I would recommend it to anyone!!!

I'd go for somewhere you can have a drink / meal and dance (if you want), all in one place. I'd keep it to a night, rather than a weekend, but thats to make it more inclusive. Where abouts is your DBs fiancee?

Oh
p.s. - and it's cheap!!! A villa for 8 people is about £300/£400 I think

Works out about £50 each anyway - we got another £10 off everyone for food and booze

My best friend organised a stretch limo ( a bit passe now, but different at the time) and we went to my mum and dad's holiday house for the weekend. It was a big surprise - that was the best bit. She'd been to the house in advance and decorated it and filled the fridge with essentials . It's a very small seaside town, so us turning up on the ferry in a limo was a real talking point. We went to the only pub on the island on the Saturday night and had a great laugh.

I would organise as much of it yourself if possible. Find a big house that sleeps as many as you want to come and self cater - otherwise someone else is getting money for old rope. Don't stress too much about a "theme" - location, location, location is more important.

Oh, or I went to a place called Los Locos for my hen night. It's in covent garden and has what zubb said. You eat there and then it turns into a nightclub. It's all hen and stag parties there which is nice.

muddaofsuburbia · 14/09/2004 14:59

One night only - sorry. In that case, take over an area of a fab restaurant or a small function suite in a nice hotel.

zubb · 14/09/2004 14:59

You could always hire a minibus and driver for the night to take all the guests to the place, rather than get people to pay for a hotel, if its a way away.
