Terms of endearment

I’m not from the UK so just a general question.

Started a new job in a nice team. Had a couple of rubbish family events and confided in older female colleague who was great. Been meeting up for general cup of tea and chat work stuff. Colleague ended call recently with “okay lovely”.

I assume this is a friendly term of endearment in the UK. Wasn’t offended, it was quite nice actually. I’d quite like us to be friends and not just colleagues. Would be good to build more friendships here. Anyway, still getting “used to the lingo”.

Yes, you are correct. It's a nice thing to say.

I often greet colleagues with 'Hello lovely' but only if they are. Wink

Ok. So I guess she does feel friendly towards me then
