Do you think this could work

I’m in the process of launching a business that will advice people who are thinking about putting their house on the market. Tips to increase value, make it more attractive to buyers. Advice on local estate agents. Budget advice, tradesmen advice.
We would also advice if you want to stay put, but want ideas how to titivate your home.
Advice to landlords to help maximise rental income.
We come from an estate agent and property sourcing background for national and international investors by the way.
Thank you 😊

Well it could if you pay someone to do your copywriting. Your spelling's a little off OP. Make sure you get someone who is strong in that area to write all of the copy on your promotional material and website.

Thank you yes you’re right lol!! Advice, I meant advise. Note to self- preview first!!

Also, ensure you have people who are qualified to advise...you've listed a lot of different areas here...from trades, to financial to home decoration...if you try to do this yourself (unless qualified) then people will smell the bullshit a mile off.

Decormad38 · 11/03/2019 02:26

Personally I would not pay for that because moving house is expensive enough and I prefer to do my own research but I guess not everyone does. Are you aiming for high end clients?

cloudymelonade · 11/03/2019 03:12

Unfortunately, no. I've had quite a bit of experience as both a buyer and a seller and unless you have some actual magical formula that can guarantee people's houses will sell, I struggle to see how you can monetise that.
Most of the things you have listed, most good estate agents claim to do these days.

HennyPennyHorror · 11/03/2019 05:22

Another point aside from Cloudy's is that people who are selling are often in NEED of money.

There are of course exceptions to this...property developers...but they're already experts on property and how to move it.

flumpybear · 11/03/2019 05:58

I wouldn't pay to be honest as I'd just watch some property programmes

fikel · 11/03/2019 10:02

We wouldn’t be charging a massive amount for the home vist and would be able to pass on recommendations of trusted tradesmen and financial advisors if requested.
We would come to an arrangement with the tradesmen, plumbers, decorators etc for any referrals that came their way.

Would be aiming it at time poor, high end clients.

OP posts:
HennyPennyHorror · 11/03/2019 10:32

The thing about time-poor clients is that they have property managers OP. Specialised property managers who know everything they need to know about staging a house and all of the financial side of things.

High end clients won't need "tips on titivation".

fikel · 11/03/2019 11:14

That is often the case with people that have a property portfolio but in my experience not necessarily owners of single properties

OP posts:
HennyPennyHorror · 11/03/2019 12:51

Owners of single properties are not generally time-poor OP. They're often ordinary people...accidental landlords.

Anyway, you posted asking if people thought this could work and 3 people have said no. I suggest you post in AIBU for more traffic and more opinions.

HennyPennyHorror · 11/03/2019 12:52

And the only real way to work out if it would work is to conduct market research.

fikel · 11/03/2019 13:18

Thank you for your many comments, yes 3 people isn’t really a great cross section. My partner has been asking people when she goes out on a viewings in her capacity as an estate agent and the feedback has been very positive.

fikel · 11/03/2019 13:19

Typo error - when she goes out on viewings
