Following on from the Do your children wear clean school uniform every day? thread , I was wondering about what you all do personally.

Do you shower daily?
Do you have clean clothes daily?
If not, do you wear the same clothes on 2 consecutive days?
What about workout gear?
How often do you change your bra?

I shower practically every day. Occasionally on a Sunday I won't if we're not going anywhere, but I feel nasty by the end of the day.
I always wear clean knickers, socks and shirts. Usually my shorts or trousers will be clean, occasionally they'll last for a couple of days. I tend to use a clean bra every 2 to 3 days. If I go to the gym I always wash everything I've worn.

Well DH and I (so DD by default) are obviously neurotic...DH and i both shower or bath x2 every day and wash hair daily. DD has a bath at least x1 everyday, but x2 at w/e and has her hair washed every other day (she swims x2 a week).

Clean underwear and tops everyday, have 3 work suits which get alternated (jaket lives on hanger in office unless I'm ina meeting).

Seriously, does no-one else ever feel sticky around the under wire of their bra? I don't think i'm particularly sweaty but maybe i'm deluding myself...

Forgot to add I only ever wash my hair every 3 days. My hair is so thick and long it's a chore in it's self by the time I've washed, blow dried and straightened it.

I can't really understand why I'm reading this thread, if you have a bad habit I really don't want to know

Now I am as clean as the cleanest of you, but once upon a time as a student I spent 3 months working as a volunteer teaching in a school in a village in a cold third world country, where there was no access by motor vehicle (8 hour hike from end of road), no running water, no electricity, no bathrooms, and no proper heating. Everyone in the village had fleas and lice and giardiasis, so I got them within a week, and I also got amoebic dystentry, all for the duration of the visit. At first I tried to wash to my own standards, but then realized that I was going to get hypothermia or pneumonia (washing outdoors or in shack in freezing weather then using towel which had still not dried from yesterday) and instead I resigned myself to fleas, lice, gut parasites, and rationed myself to one babywipe per day (and when they finished a wet not very clean flannel) and focused on handwashing and out of vanity always washed my face and combed my hair! Washing clothes by hand in icy water was a real nightmare so I only did it when I couldn't bear it any more, except for knickers, which were clean (handwashed in cold water) every day. So there! Do I win the prize for being the dirtiest person?!! Still alive and kicking and appreciative of having a bathroom and washing machine in my life!

suedonim · 09/09/2004 23:11

Giardiasis is a yummy gut infection parasite. Very common in hot countries. Ds2 spent 6mths living in a Buddhist monastery in India and amazingly didn't catch a thing the whole time!!!

Hi I am Sonia, 27 single mum to son of 11. And here is the shock. I don't bath much. I wash my face and hair every day but have not got a proper shower, just a bath with a thingy that attachs to taps with shower head.

I don't feel I smell. I even have asked men I have been out with do I. Close friends have been shocked if I have told them I bath only once per week.

I like my natual smell 'down there' and do not find it horrible, and my ex loved it. I also often, if not going out say weekends, stay in same knickers.

Talking of knickers whats with thongs being the new standard knicker? Nothing wrong with thongs just seeing as most girls from 13+ wear them, and women too they are well..Boring, normal lost there sexy appeal. A male friend commented he misses knicker lines. If he sees them he gets a thrill simply as they are so rare. He can't be alone.

But it is us girls who gossip about oh look at that knicker line not men. But, if the fashion magazines start saying thongs are out with time the shops will put them where they used to be pre 1997 when thongs exploded on to the scene at the back knickers to the front and we all would feel odd in a thong as they would be the rare items.

I like satin knickers, sexy, sensual and yummy to feel. there is my bit to this lol
