when i was bf they became 38 c. i was so happy, iwanted to breastfed for ever.
but now i have ones fit for 13 year old.32 a.i feel i dont have any.i hate my shape now.im emparrassed even in front of my husband.they look ugly.

chuck out the mothercare catalogue - they haven't the slightest clue about measurements!

JackieNo · 16/06/2007 21:10

If you've only just finished bf, then don't give up - it takes a year or so, but you will probably get a better shape back eventually (sorry - I know a year's a long time, but at least it's something good to look forward to)

morethanamum · 16/06/2007 21:10

do you think i should go and have a proper fit at a shop?

I understand. I have awful post bf boobs. Mine have grown massively which might sound like a dream come true but whereas I had 32 A pert boobs I now have 32DD sagging wobblers for norks.

When did you stop bf?
I was really miserable with mine after 2 kids. But they really perked up again over time. I do a lot of power walking and I'm sure the arm action has also helped
If you don't fancy that, just a bit of exercise at home may help.

skirmish · 16/06/2007 21:13

don't go to mothercare - i went at 38wks pg, and they after measuring, said i was too small for even the smallest size they did...bought bras anyway and they were bloody terrible. General advice is to go to john lewis, or rigby and peller if you are in london (and can afford it!!). Apparently, they do get better, as jackie has said, but i am pg again, so can't offer any proof of that

morethanamum · 16/06/2007 21:16

i stopped bf in january.it seems too soon for them to look normal again.
i tried exercises from the net a month ago, then my back started to hurt extremely.i figured it might be the exercise

Really do sympathise because the same happened to me. Would suggest that you go to M&S or a local department store, get yourself measured properly and treat yourself to a really nice set of undies. Whether a 32A or a 36C, a good fitting bra (that is a little bit foxy) will go a long way to help "display" your assets to their best.

You have invested a great deal of yourself in giving your dd the best possible start and this small indulgence could go a long way to helping you find confidence in your new bodyshape.

morethanamum · 16/06/2007 21:19

posey what did really help?
i`ll try anything.i even tried to gain weight.

It supposed to be pregnancy and not bf that make boobs look different. You can't measure yourself to find what size you are, you need to try on bras and get a proper fit to do that. Department stores are usually crap at that so you need to find somewhere independent imo or somewhere like bravissimo, who cater for larger ladies but still size up very well, and find how to size a bra and see if it fits you. www.bravissimo.com/info/fittingadvice.aspx

JodieG1 · 16/06/2007 21:23

Just to add, mine never changed after bf and I'm bf again now so we shall see. Pregnancy didn't change mine either but I always wore good support bras which is what's supposed to make a big difference.

Flamesparrow · 16/06/2007 21:25

Mine are only just starting to reinflate - someone told me that the length of time you fed for is about the length it takes for them to get back to normal (am clinging to that hope )

morethanamum · 16/06/2007 21:26

i think youre right jodie. i cant sleep with bra.even when i was pg.
i had to when i was bf.mum used to shout at me saying theyll sag after bf.i just couldnt wear them.

Department stores like John lewis are good at measuring but are limited by their stock - that's the main reason why independent shops are better. I went from a pert 34C to an uncomfortable 34DD. With a smaller bust you can always wear a nice t shirt with a padded bra but with baps it just looks horrible.

morethanamum · 16/06/2007 21:30

what about when you lie in bed trying so hard to look sexy?

OP posts:
JodieG1 · 16/06/2007 21:33

I really don't think department stores have a clue. They use tape measures rather than looking to get your size and that's a big no no. You might get lucky and get a good fit but generally I think they're not great at all. Have a look at the link I posted, the fitting advice is easy and much better when you can find a bra that fits for yourself.

Posey · 16/06/2007 21:34

I bf my youngest for 2+ years. By the end of it, my formerly full and lovely boobs were saggy and small

I think time does help (I stopped about 2 years ago) but the power walking is brilliant. When you're walking you really pump your arms as you would if you were running: elbows bent at right angles, not swinging your arms. I have returned to a pre-pregnancy, pre-bf shape and size, despite 3+ years of feeding.

JodieG1 · 16/06/2007 21:35

A nice push up bra or some sexy lingerie will work, there are loads of lovely undewear you can get that will make you feel sexy. Once you feel sexy then you'll act sexy

Posey · 16/06/2007 21:37

Agree with that Jodie. Some lovely undies make a huge difference to how you feel. I always feel far more attractive in nice undies, even if no-one but me will see it. It gives me confidence!

morethanamum · 16/06/2007 21:37

i guess so.
i think i need some time to sdjust to the new look!
i`ll try a bra fit and power walking.
