My BIL is on that and he has the same problem. Can your Dr not prescribe something else?

sparklygothkat · 14/06/2007 13:39

I will have to try and get an appointment, its really hard to get one with the ADHD clinic here

Would melatonin help? It works for ds2 (ASD) but I don't know if would help with ADHD.

sparklygothkat · 14/06/2007 13:57

dunno, can I get that from the GP??

Hi
no I don't think you can from GP. Try health food shop. It helped my son get a good routine going
Please please PLEASE don't be grumpy with me if you think this is rubbish or have already tried it ! I am only suggesting something that worked for me - my son had EXACTLY the same sleep issues and now he sleeps fine. We completely changed what he ate in the evening and that gave us first nights sleep in three years. No chocolate, no milk no additives and no apple or blackcurrant juice. Seriously if you've heard it a millions times and or think it is crap apologies !!! ( new member & not done archive on SN)

I think melatonin is pescription only in this country and certainly last year only from hospital consultants rather than gp. It could really help as it is a chemical we naturally produce to induce sleep.
