if so, what is it exactly??

I'm looking for something long term that will aid relaxation. or I'm going to end up fruitcake. Would shiatsu fit the bill?

I had a course of I think 5 session, to help me with stiff neck, and it was absolutely great. I do recommend it

yes i've had it - v. good. you keep clothes on and they massage pressure points to releave tensions etc.
I find yoga v. good - go for a gentle class if you try that

It's like acupuncture but without the needles, in that they focus on the same pressure points. I have used it in the past, and found it helpful for emotional issues. Also had it during pregnancy for relaxation. It was effective in inducing two of my labours when I was 2 weeks overdue. I think it works and would recommend it. Probably depends on the practioner though.

Thank you all these reponses are very helpful. I've struggled with yoga in the past (also getting to classes is often impossible or stress in itself iykwim). It sounds like this could be good & definitely worth exploring more- thank you.
