Would you go on 'How to Look Good Naked'

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 09:46

Knowing that all your insecurities would be on display to everyone you have ever known

Knowing that even though at the end you'll probably look great at the beginnning you'll be the person you are

So even though its a great life experience, I assume, what would make you do it?

I just felt like I needed the push to change the way I looked at my body and did something about how I look in clothes now, rather than looking at my chokka wardorbe and thinking "nothing suits me" as I'm sure it does, I just don't have the confidence to try different things.

Pinkchampagne · 31/05/2007 10:06

The photographer on the programme is the husband of a friend of a friend of mine!

luciemule · 31/05/2007 10:07

oohhh- so he could photograph you naked then pinkchampagne without you having to do the whole show!

Mindles · 31/05/2007 10:08

I was just looking on the website, and there's a whole page on disguising your "mummy tummy"! That man should be canonised.

Pinkchampagne · 31/05/2007 10:10

I would rather he didn't though!!!
I have met him at one of the birthday parties & he is a nice bloke!

admylin · 31/05/2007 10:11

I watche dthis last time I was in teh Uk and I think it's maybe coming to Germany - me and my sister were glued to the TV in part shock horror how can anyone do that and then in amazement at the end result. However after watching a few it basically showed us that you need to invest in good 'supportive' underwear of the corset/support tights type and that it's otherwise down to spending a lot of time on grooming.
It'd be tempting just for getting loads of new clothes and all the treatment.

michaelad · 31/05/2007 10:22

Is he part of an agency that does the naked photoshoot?
Been thinking of something like that as a wedding anniv. present for dh at some point when I've lost more weight!

michaelad · 31/05/2007 10:23

Congrats on having had the guts to press that send button, Lucie. I just could not bring myself to do it.

Pinkchampagne · 31/05/2007 10:26

Yes, well done, Lucie! Let us know if you get on!

InTheseShoes · 31/05/2007 10:49

I love the programme, and I would love to spend some time with Gok - shopping and grooming etc. But (and here's a phrase I never thought I would say) I don't think I have the required attitude to my body. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely no oil painting - size 18, mahoosive norks, fairly indiscriminate looks and a round tummy - but I'm fairly happy in my skin. I get good bra fittings and I wear nice knickers. I am fairly hot on grooming, have regular hair cuts and colours and I never wander around in jeans and fleeces. My husband sees me naked regularly. Ergo, I would be a crap programme. In truth, I find it desperately sad that some of those women have such a terrible attitude towards themselves (and I know that they are not alone) and I really hope that their experiences with Gok help them long term.

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 13:27

so many no's and one brave soul who may well do it

what about you?

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 31/05/2007 13:29

no no no no no no no
parade in my knickers in front of 2000 people?

noooooooooo!!!!!!!

lissie · 31/05/2007 13:30

i'd go on it in a heartbeat! so much nicer than trinny & susannah, at least he works on your self-esteem rather than just your outfits

Tigana · 31/05/2007 13:47

Does anyone else think the outfits Gok comes up with tend towards the absolutely hideous? Or is that just me?

noddyholder · 31/05/2007 13:47

Clothes are terrible He loves a cheap plastic belt!

Tigana · 31/05/2007 13:48

preferably in a very bright colour, or animal print

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 13:48

did you see that bright yellow shoes / plastic belt combo ...

OP posts:
NikkiBFG · 31/05/2007 13:49

I would not go on cos Gok would then have to admit to failure!!! All very well giving tips on being pear shaped, bingo wings etc...but...what if, like me, you have both???

Tigana · 31/05/2007 13:50

He seems to come up with okay clothes then drags them into the gutter with the belts and shoes...

PinkMartini · 31/05/2007 13:53

Wouldn't go on the prog no.
But I would love to get that feedback though - honest feedback from "the man on the street." and also do that line-up exercise - sometimes I think I'm thinner than I am actually am as brain kids me that I'm not as plump as I actually am.

PinkMartini · 31/05/2007 13:54

Twiglett, did you see my confession?
Am giving up BB this summer.

PinkMartini · 31/05/2007 13:55

Sorry Twiglett - meant here have just sent a Bristol meet up thread to a friend. Sorry

JoolsToo · 31/05/2007 13:56

No I would not.

Yes that canary yellow stuff was mingin'

Saturn74 · 31/05/2007 13:57

No way!
I wouldn't subject any viewer to that!
I expect there would be more complaints than there were for Big Brother!
